Subs for 2012 Ram

I was looking to put subs in a 2012 Ram Crew Cab that has the non alpine factory system. The system itself doesn't sound too bad just want a little more bump, nothing crazy. The simplest option seems to put the MTX subs that crutchfield suggest

under the rear seat. Seems like a pretty easy system to install but was wondering if anyone had an opinion on how it would sound. Thanks

650 for a box, 2 ****** subs and craptastic 200W RMS amp...

Oh no dude.

You can do MUCH better than that.

Honestly, I'd go with a single box (a foxbox would run ya 150?), pop in a kicker CVR and a Kicker 400.1. I know it would sound better than that........and I'm sure it wouldn't be over 650

For that price plus an amp you can get better. Look in to fox box. You can get a box 1 or 2- 10s or 12s. Mtx is good but have become over priced over the years. I have 2 memphis 12s and waiting on my fox box. I have under 500 in both. I went with a high end amp that was 450 but you can get a good amp in the 250 rang. Just my input

Get a fox box, 2 kicker cvrs, a decent amp. your set for the same price, a lot more bump for the buck.

all good info here, the MTX's are nice, but you eill be limited to what the small powered amp can sustain.
With the dual CVR setup and either a 400.1 or 500.1, you'll have headroom

I got box 100 shipped, 5ch jbl amp 250 on ebay, 85- 12" jbl each for subs, 40 for wiring and fuse, 35 for pac adapter total spent = $595

for the record, this box with the crappy MTX subs, hit really hard, I have heard a fox box, and this enclosure hit every bit as hard. I killed both MTX subs with my Rockford P500.2. subs were rated for 200w each, and my amps birthsheet stated 837w at 14.4 volts.

I have two 10" jl w-1's and they hit so much harder than my two 12" cvr's ever did

I got 2 alpine type r shallows 12's in a vented box powered my a mrp m1000 and a pioneer avh p4400 and 2 pairs of alpine type r 6x9's and a pdx 5 all getting hooked up next week getting dyno mat soon.

ive got 2 12" kicker cvr in a small box behind the driver seat/center console and its pushed by a 2000 watt ssl amp and its been pounding for over 2 years

$320 a sub? That is expensive. I ordered two new 2012 Alpine Type R's that will handle 1000rms a piece for 300 for BOTH.
