So I bought a 2 sub and amp combo with a sealed box and they won't hit hard.http://a248.e.akamai.net/pix.crutchf...ohm_2ch-br.jpg
I tried to wire them just like this and it goes straight into protection mode when I turn them on so I took the bridge wire off (the green one in the diagram) it doesn't go into protection mode but they're not hitting as hard as I think they should

link to wiring doesnt work. Did you pull wiring for the LOC out of the rear speakers, or did you get up under the dash and go before the amp?

With the built-in crossover and taking a signal from the back speakers and amping an already-amped signal, you will notice they barely hit and the higher you turn your volume, the less bass you will feel. This is rectified by taking a clean 4 channel signal from all front/rear speaker outputs before the factory amp OR replacing your head unit with an aftermarket unit with a sub pre-out that you can just run RCA's to your amp.

if thats not the case, it could simply be the settings you have on your amp (high pass filter, bass boost, etc.) or check the equalizer settings on the factory deck.

Thats just off the top of my head. Need a bit more info to go further.

Ok well when I turn the balance on the deck all the way right or left the subs hit hard like they're supposed to and I have no clue why and I pulled loc from rear speakers but spliced it right behind radio

Well thats a new one... lol.

Maybe someone else has a better idea. Are your inputs reversed, does your amp have a built-in crossover that needs to be wired a certain way?

Your out of polarity. 100% either reversed at the loc or the subs specifically. They are canceling each other out that's why when it gets louder with balance

Doesn't matter one bit where you grab your signal front or rear. You don't even have to get each side (left/right) you can join your 2 pos and 2 neg at the loc and connect to one speaker. The issue is with out a doubt a polarity issue
