Probably blasphemy to mention on this forum, but I am thinking about removing my OEM SW and not replacing. I am not an audiophile or even close. I think I would like to use the space under the rear passenger side seat for storage. Like the drivers side.
That raises a couple of questions for me.
1) Is it simply an unplug a harness and unbolt procedure? I guess I am wondering where the amplifier is located and how it comes into play.
2) Will removing it affect the remaining components of the audio system in anyway? Wont interrupt a circuit or anything like that?
Am I opening a can of worms?

Thanks for any help or suggestion folks.

Removing it from the system won't harm a thing. Removal is pretty simple. Couple of bolts holding enclosure down and two plugs on the bottom/side near the sub itself.

Good to know I am not an audio Misfit!! LOL
Yeah, odd thing with me is that I seem to perceive low frequency sounds as being accentuated.
I think this is because of a high frequency hearing loss. Too many years working around jet engines and other loud machinery I guess.
Road noise seems amplified to me making it difficult to understand the little Lady's higher frequency voice when she speaks to me in the truck.
