Hi All,

First post here.

My name is Daniel a couple months ago, I had a week of vacation and decided to re-upholster my headliner lol, so here are the Progress pics. Decided to post since I hadn’t came across anything similar for our trucks. Lmk what you guys think!

Hardest part was removing the headliner from the truck lol.

Came out REAL nice!

Were you able to get the headliner out without removing the windshield? Service manual says on anything but a regular cab, windshield needs to be removed to remove the headliner. Interested to know if (and how) you managed to do it without pulling the windshield first.

Yeah I was able to remove it through the rear driver side door. Removing it was actually the hardest part lol. I had to bend it a little bit, but no damage was done. In order to bend it, you’ll have to remove the overhead console and bracket that hold it in place. Here are some pics, right before I took it out (I had yet to remove the overhead console in these pics). Putting it back in was a breeze.

**Had to remove all seats and center console too btw.

Not sure if some of you know him, but Doug Bernards “The Soundman” was where I got the idea to take on this project. Look him up on YouTube.

Thanks for the info, glad to see it can come out without removing the windshield.

Bending it is my biggest worry....Ive done this job on my old Nissan Frontier but it was a smaller truck to start with and didnt have 4 doors (extended cab with just jump seats in back). It came out of the truck pretty easily. The actual re-upholster was pretty simple, and putting it back in was a bit easier than removing it since I remembered how I removed it and just did it in reverse.

Love the idea of making everything one color....always hated that manufacturers went to a generic color for above the dashboard. My G37 is the same way....red leather seats (greatest look ever!), black carpet, dash and door panels, "alabaster" everything else. The RAM is the same way....Id like to make everything the lapis gray color: headliner, grab handles, etc.

Very nice! Did you soundproof the roof while you had the headliner down?

Yeah I actually did. I went with Rockville sound deadener. Same quality as the Dynamat but a 1/3 of the price. Also did the doors and and floor. Huge difference!

Excellent. I took my headliner down to do the Dynamat and dynaliner but realized I didn’t need to completely pull it out to do it, which made life easier.

The pillars reall look good too. You did a killer job. Very nice work on the visors!
