Swap dash top from regular to longhorn

I was able to source a used longhorn dash. Instead of swapping entire thing in since its from a 2012 gasser vs my 2014 diesel, can I swap just the pad part instead.So not the entire dash assembly. Any links or other success stories.

Attached is my factory dash pic.Appears as if the brown part is modular.

On my Big Horn the top is all one piece that goes down between speedo and center stack... on the leather topped ones that piece is a separate piece. You would probably have to get the other dash front pieces to make it work.

All i know is the dash is all one piece. Learned this when i had to remove my dash to run a speaker wire to the center dash speaker hole. There is like 5,000 bolts and a passenger side dash airbag that has to be removed. Make sure you disconnect the negative and positive terminals on the battery before you unhook or remive the airbag, or it could go off.

Wish I had a one piece dash, mine is in about 30 pieces lol.

I am wondering this too, because I have a 12 Big Horn with the black dash and tan top, and I want that black leather top so bad. SO I guess that's out of the question for that. Would just be easier to pay this one off and get a Black Leather interior 2500 6.4 hemi instead lol
