I found this last summer when I bought the truck and was putting the amp in. I completely forgot to post it. As most of you know RAM was cool and pre-wired every truck for every contingency. I have no idea what cigarette lighter this would have gone to. But it is the correct plug. If somebody is ever looking for switched power for a radar detector, or an amp, this is just sitting buried in the dash right under the vent behind the touch screen. You could even just add the the socket as opposed to hard wiring it. I'm sure it will save someone from a splice they don't want to do.
If anybody owns the truck this will have been in , let me know what it is and where it would have been. Thx

On center jumpseat trucks, there is a cigarette lighter power port there beneath the 4WD selector. I actually used that as a switched power trigger for the relay I use to power stuff behind the radio and my dash camera.

Is it for the 12 VDC outlet below the cell phone holder ?

Or the Ram without the full floor console

No in the pictures, the one I tapped for my amp was the lower power outlet by the cellphone holder, its definitely for the ram without the full console. I never realized there were 2 outlets in that one. That satisfy my curiosity though lol thx

My 17 tradesman has no console. The one 12v outlet is key on power, the other is hot all the time.

Now that I think of it. If you have the full console, adding the cigarette lighter behind the dash there would be a great way to cleanly hide many dash cam power supplies that often use cigarette lighter plugs...

So, this not for the rams with the full console?

I need to find a keyed power source for my line out converter and I taped the the cigarette lighter in the center console but it powered even with the truck on.
Even thought it has a key on it. Anybody know what's up with that?

Thanks
