What about your rear axle and gear and suspension. Putting extra tires on it isn't going to change the trucks legal capabilities, just make it ride more stably

Conversion kits have been available for 40 yrs. Theres a standard steel wheel kit or an all aluminum wheel kit. You could piece it together from used parts too.
