Unless it goes through the vac lines how can that clean the throttle body? I need to see the instructions on the can. Do they manually clean it, then it likely will work. A better way to keep that clean is get a catch can.
The system has a adapter that fits to the TB intake.

So you see that video, to really clean that you need to manually do it. But it will do some cleaning that way. Maybe 30% or something (guess), straight solvent through the throttle body will do something. But if you get a catch can set up right, no oil will be there in the first place.

Burla another thing. When my tech first suggested trying the BG treatment. I thought it was snake oil. He took out one my injectors. Connected it to a test bench set up. Pumped to the required PSI and activated the injector. The spray pattern was OK, but not uniform. Ran the cleaner process. Re tested the injector. You could see a clearly a more uniform spray pattern. I will continue to use what works.

I've been installing this while arguing with you fools lol. If anyone has a cargo trailer, toy hauler, etc, I highly recommend this "add-a-wall". Made in Colorado. Allows you to sit inside with the ramp open and drink beer without bugs getting in. Hard to tell in the pics but flaps roll up for screens or down for privacy. Unzips in the middle for walking through and whole thing rolls up and secures to ceiling when needed.

You'd better get busy loading up if you're headed west this weekend.

Not discounting what you're saying but PI and S1 will do the same thing + give you an upper cylinder lube.

Got it. That would make sense given that the "BG System Cleaner" process is under pressure so any quality solvent cleaner may produce the same results. Thanks

Those go through the gas, but now I am wondering if a catch can will take away 100% from there. I wonder if you can get some back pressure in the tube after the cylinders fire anyhow? I bet gas vapors will make that stuff black anyway, I bet even guys with catch cans should clean that, maybe just less often?

I take no responsibility if Rampant's trailer falls apart on his drive, arguing with us fools was a voluntary activity.

Thurs and Fri are load days. Gotta put softopper back on, change oil, rotate tires, lube trailer bearings, etc., etc. tomorrow. Most stuff is in tubs in storage unit. I'll load the bed and back seat of my truck, then hook up to trailer and pull the Yukon in and load it up with tubs and boxes. Since most things I'm taking are still boxed/tubbed up from last move, it shouldn't take long.

I doubt very seriously that catch cans are 100% , I just like seeing the crap that's not being reintroduced into my engine.

Catch cans aren't 100 % , but they do keep a lot of oil and crap out of the air intake plenum [emoji1303]
I opened my butterfly a few months ago with over 50k on the truck and there was nothing on the backside of the plate and with a very bright & tiney flashlight from what I could see it was nice and clean inside .
The real tell tell will be when I do my plugs later this summer as I plan on running a scope in to look at the pistons & valves , I'll likely take a better look in the intake plenum as well [emoji1303]

So then maybe a catch can is close to 100.

Can you explain more? He ran it through the gas tank?

I'm thinking he removed a single injector from engine and cleaned it and checked spray pattern.

If the BG system is cleaning each injector individually that would be an awesome deal. Those of us that are using PI or S1 just assume that it works, that system would actually verify that it works.

I took my daughter's Subaru to Firestone on base here today to get an alignment because I changed the tie rod ends, end links, cv shafts, etc. They use a product called QMI for fuel injector and induction system cleaners. I had never heard of that brand, so I looked it up. It's a three stage cleaner. Three different products. Their TB cleaner SDS shows that it's 60-100% propanone, which is acetone. The induction system cleaner SDS shows it's 30-60% mineral spirits and 15-40% ether. The VMER (Volumetric Efficiency Restorer) is 60-100% #2 diesel fuel and 5-10% naptha. Interesting combination of a bunch of solvents. The latter two are dumped in the tank and the TB cleaner is a foam/spray. Anyone have any experience with this product/service? They charge $80 for the service.
