I just saw Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5 quart jug on amazon for $16.26USD. That’s a pretty good price!

Moly is only one type of wear preventives added to oil. There are others see link in my dog line.

Learn the difference between wear additives and extreme pressure additives. Wear additives don't require extreme pressure. And if you want to post a link, post a real one like this. If you spend one ounce of time putting wear additives thinking you will solve hemi tick, you will just keep having hemi tick. The pressures are too great at the point of the tick, you need extreme pressure additives or oil base only. Zero doubt Ram forum has proven this to the world, at least to those who have bothered to listen.

Man that is so cheap good for a 500 mile flush, lol. I pay that to have PYB for a flush now and then. PUP would be a great flush oil, I know of nothing better. Obviously it is a great oil in it's own right, great in every way, most used oil by ram forum, but also when oil is that cheap good for many things. I think I might have to get a couple jugs. thanks for posting you guys....

If that truck ends up ticking on PUP, try adding lubegard biotech right away. Last checked it was only 6 bucks amazonians.

Yes, 6 bucks for 10 ounce size, I'd buy two. Moly treatment plus phos in an ester base. We call it poor man's redline around here, read the reviews, it works. An rare additive with solid science behind it, not a gimmick additive or snake oil. VOA's have proven the additive package. As good as the reviews are, they may even be better as some people are not aware it often takes time for moly to plate.

TruTrans third party seller usually sells it the cheapest. I got the 15oz bottle for $7.51 a piece.

So hows everyone doing ? I dont get on here to much as I have working on getting my Nova up and running.
Just picked up 5 quarts of Penzoil and have a RP filter coming for it , After I get a few thousand miles on it I am going to switch it over to RL as well.


Still running RL in my Ram and still very quiet at 32k but the oil temps sure runs warm , keeps any moisture burnt off anyway..lol
Does anyone think going to 5w20 would lower the oil temps ? I have seen in the high 240s in the summer.
I dont know maybe I should not worry about it

Seen 248* once last summer while towing but normally low 240s to high 230s towing and high 220s not towing.

Pretty sure 230-260 ok, especially with a good synthetic, I believe also conventional starts to breakdown near 275, what i read one time.

Others may have better answer, this is what i always went by.

If so you need much more zinc and phosphorus than Pennzoil can provide form day one. Id add redline break-in-additive to it. It is super high ZDDP in a good base stock.

Its a 454 and a 400 turbo that I pulled out of a 90 class C rv that has 35k on it. (So its got a rv cam .lol)
So stock but the intake carb and headers.
Cars a 70 SS Nova.
