Yeah, but you know the Canadian gallon is more volume then a US gallon? Interesting tid bits we get to know having so many nuckers on the board.

While a gallon in the US equals 128 ounces, a Canadian gallon is around 160 ounces.

Liters always struck me as too small a measure, whereas celsius is too wide a measure. Metric system is easier to calculate, of course, but is not as human-intuitive. What the heck is a megapascal anyway? o_O

It's all what you grew up with my friend. Conditioning, memory etc. What the heck is a PSI? What is a farenheight? Can you (personally) tell the difference between 40 and 42 degrees farenheight? Doubt it. You can however, notice a small difference between 18 and 20 celcius. 0 is water freezing, 100 is water boiling, 20 is room temperature. And each number on the scale means something significant. So as far as "intuitive" goes, I'll take metric each and every time.

But us poor canucks get the worst of both worlds; we measure distance in KM, height in feet, weight in pounds or kg. It's a mess and we should use all metric but we can't because you guys don't.

Nothing like being in the military and using metric system at work then having to use American **** after. Yeah h and we measure duke by the pounds not a volume.

They are having a valvoline career fair here, smart. So is Valvoline the only oil company that has their own quick oil changes? I know jiffy lube is pennzoil, but valvoline is the name of their quick change stations.

Chevy had it first back in 2019. But I can't get jealous of a Ford, even if it came with a built in beer dispenser.

Its all 10’s bro.

Metric is better. I have no idea why the US was so stubborn to make this **** up. Can you count to 10 and add zeros.... then you can do metric

If I had to measure everything in the fabrication world and even in the new career path I’m in now in standard measurements it would’ve been and would be super irritating.

Hell, I had to do BOTH - back before there were automated software conversion tables.

Also - bring back hand crank windows and vents. Push button tailgates is a sign of the apocalypse.

As promised, towing temps with Amsoil MVATF. Pretty damn good however it was also only about 42⁰ here today. It shifted and acted completely the same as on C+.

My only concern with the MVATF is the Brookfield viscosity which is way higher than C+. But I've also read in couple places that Amsoil doesn't use any VIIs in the MVATF which could explain it.

Either way it still has a ridiculously low pour point and I wouldn't hesitate to run it again.a96dfae2afa569e0eb09ce986e49693d.jpg0a77432e18a504fafad49c4c40a75054.jpgf82388879d54c95516d9ff22377c34a9.jpg

Gosh it is a lot thicker brook

Thanks for sharing.

I wonder if that will raise line pressure. Technically i think it would.....

Interesting... 38.5 CSt @ 40C (104F) Amsoil versus 32.3 CSt @ 40C (104F) Red Line. So, definitely higher flow resistance even @ bulk sump operating temperature. The 100C viscosity match is still important, because the oil sees this and higher temperatures at the clutch plates and bands during a shift.

Seeing that the viscosity gap widens at cold ambients sure seems to indicate Amsoil is not VII additized - at least not much - compared to Red Line.

Would a faster flowing lubricant be better for heat dissipation and lower line pressure, despite VII additives? Not sure - because VII, no matter how stable, will be sheared in the clutches and bands, leading to oxidation and deposit buildup.
