Unless you are still having Hemi tick problems(with the Redline) I wouldn’t bother with the Lubegard I don’t think you really need it. I only added it to lesser oils that you knew had little or no Moly. The 10oz bottle worked fine for me when I used it in RGT and QSUD no tick.

No Hemi tick that I can hear. It seems like she is running well on Red Line.

Thanks

I wouldn't mix them, no reason to.

Okay. It threw me off when I seen them pictured together. I thought I read earlier that nothing should be added with Red Line.

Thanks

You don't need, and shouldn't, add Lubegard Bio Tech to Red Line Oil.

Okay, okay, I get the point. :p

Just kidding. I appreciate the feedback.

This is ms6395, I wouldn't say it was a joke for consumer, but yeah I'd be chapped if I was an oil manu, lol.

This was the main hooray... from link

Oil must pass Chrysler Las Vegas fleet test. The test is run in Chrysler vehicles for 100,000 miles in taxicabs in Las Vegas over two summers and one winter. Chrysler material engineering can supply more detail. Fleet plan must be approved by Chrysler’s Material Engineering before testing begins.

I'm sure that ExxonMobil put their low-rent Mobil Super oil through the test to get it MS-6395 approved, yet they didn't do the same, or instead of it, for their flagship Mobil 1 and Mobil 1 EP products. It's a bunch of bull, and just politics between SOPUS and ExxonMobil, as they don't want to step on each other's toes. They own Infineum together, so what does that tell you?

Real industry-recognized approvals like Daimler's MB approvals (e.g. MB229.71 - the best 0W-20 oils have it, MB229.52 - LSPI protection from 0W-30 up to 5W-40, and so on), or GM's Dexos, are published, and they also make databases available with approved oils. Why doesn't Chrysler do the same? MS-6395 is a clone of API SN, which isn't really a very strong standard. Real engineers design real specifications along with real testing methodology. Google TES-295 for example. MS-6395, along with the other moving targets that start with an MS- are a joke.

Well, Chrysler dumped m1 after their bankruptcy in 09 and opted to partner with Shell, so I imagine m1 was probably chapped about that. I wonder how much they owed m1, lol. Regardless, m1 was always a good choice for the hemi and it is the second most oil used in them, and I would wager decent money there was never a warranty denial for someone using mobil 1.

Would you?? This thing just looks wrong man.. Maybe I am getting soft in my old age, but this is out of my comfort zone. I'm sure you lock it at the feet which makes those sizzors likely secure, but this is intimidating?

And it costs like double a traditional lift does that you can securely lock.

No way.

That’s dumb

Anyhow, imo it is good to see so many bottom no name oils have similar quality to larger names. Havoline, amazon basics, kirkland, super tech, and others are no longer the joke. Now we see some oils like valvoline, truck and gas/qsud respond with heavy EP oils.

MOPAR calls for Pennzoil Platnum Ultra Syn. 5/20 been running it in the last two Rams with MOPAR 399 Filters and Same Oil in 0/40 for the 6.4 Scat Pack with MOPAR 041 SRT Filters. Mobil 1 is excellent oil But MOPAR claims it does not have an additive they want. Have not had the hemi tap in any of the last three 5.7 Ram trucks or the 6.4 392 Scat Pack in 52000 miles. Just saying.

I think it is pretty settled. These 4 oils account for 80% of ram forum use, I am pretty blown away with this result. m1 or PUP it's a wash. Royal Purple is number 5 :)

That was due to Fiat buying them.

I' d be using 10-40 conventional in that motor. That's what some of us old guys used when we were driving similar vehicles. Your thinking is spot on adding zinc in trying to duplicate old formulas.

What about 15w50 mobil 1?
I'm guessing this isn't a power house of an engine if the seller didn't mention it, but hey anything can happen ;) And Maybe it's just me, but higher warm number on oil doesn't that correlate with high rpm? Maybe just something kook up in my head

It depends. Generally speaking, if you want to rev the snot out of a motor you need a lower viscosity oil.
