I want to see motul vs redline across the board in all the test we know.

Motul 300V has excellent moly and is is ester/pao based. I think it’s one of the few major competitors with Redline. We just hardly see anything about it.

Is it pao based? I thought most Motul was ester/group 3. Corey's find didn't show 300v, but you can see this one would be group 3. Does nick sell 300v? I bet if he doesn't he can probably get it. Kyle you trying 300v in the 6.4 at some point?

Nick can get it. I tried getting some Motul 2 stroke oil from him and he had to be set up as a vendor. Motul is being a pain in the butt and will only provide him 300 V at the moment.

I could be wrong. I thought PAO and ester. Could be Group 3 and Ester.

It took 700+ miles for Redline 0W40 to quiet my old 6.4 down, but it was 5W40 that ended up being the best for that motor.

    vegetable oil
    synthetic base oil
    animal fatty acids

    wtf?

As discussed before animal fatty acids are really great lubricants and what caused ester to be developed in the first place. But, vegetable oil? HUH. Interesting, bottom line visc and hths noack tell the quality, so if the base holds up under those measurements it is good. Watch the Motul's tbn, they are lower then what we are used to from synthetic.

    All this talk of OIL.

There is nothing wrong with mixing oils for what you need.

    I use:
    2 Qts Rotella t6 0w40
    5 Qts PUP

I also use Miracal Mystery Oil in the gas.

My engine is so quiet I forget it is one both when stopped and going highway speeds.

Also, see the link in my sig line.

Now why would you dumb down that great PUP 0w40 with t6?

I'm at almost 800 miles using Redline 5w40 and my cold start ticking/knocking is louder than ever. More troubling to me is the frequency and duration of the valvetrain noise. The ticking use to subside within the first minute of start-up, but now lasts 2-3 minutes. In addition, my fuel mileage has dropped from 13 to 11. We'll see if it quiets down before the next oil change, I'm doubtful tbh.

Apologies for the rant...I've just never dealt with such a poorly manufactured engine before.
