Tailgate replacement

So i have a brand new (4 months old) 2018 Dodge ram 1500 sport night edition Red with all the flat black badgeing... i had a bit of a boat not properly attached to the truck mishap and now my tailgate is done.... other then getting an oem painted tailgate which i'm looking into was wondering if anyone has done any aftermarket work with their tailgate. where did you get your parts? what did you do? pics would be helpful. Im in Calgary Canada if anyone has some suggestions for local work.

Hey Craig. I'm in Airdrie and had a mishap with my 3 month old truck recently. wanted it fixed but didn't want to pay what the shops want. So, I know a guy and he did a great job fixing dented bumper in his garage and did it faster than I expected. He took my bumper off and I picked it up 2 days later and he did excellent work. If interested, I'll pm you his name and phone #. I brought the truck to him and he quoted a price and I paid him cash. I think it cost me less than 1/2 of what a body shop would have charged.

Ouch. The kids face says it all, hahahahaha love it.
Sorry Brother. They do have aftermarket prepainted tailgates the fit is good too my buddy got one for his from an eBay store

Your truck is new. Why wouldn't you want to go through insurance, and get a new OEM tailgate?

Insurance is an option I will probably take. Just thought i would check to see what other cool custom options there are.
