Hi Everyone and Happy 4th of July 2026, So I need to replace one of my tail light assemblies on my 2021 Ram 1500 Classic, I got the taillight assembly out but I can not get the wireing connect to the assebly to disconnect from the harness of the truck. I have taken the small red clip out but cannot get the male and female ends to come apart. Thank you in advance for all the help. Everyone be safe out there.

With it being a 2021 model I would suspect dirt and debris in the connector causing the latch to be unable to move fully to unlock and dirt causing friction making it difficult to pull apart.

When this happens to me I get the blow gun out and use compressed air to blow out anything in the connectors. If that doesn't work I spray the connectors with a water bottle to wash away the dirt and debris and in most cases they will separate.

If you get a flashlight in close enough you can see if the latch is moving far enough to unlock so the two connectors separate.
