I'm waiting on my new torque converter to arrive. I have a guy doing the swap for me, just asked that I supply parts and fluids and he'll do me good on labor.

I was going to poke around on Rock Auto but thought I'd just ask. Should I replace anything else at the same time? Truck is at 140k miles.....filters, solenoids, etc. Or does the pan even have to be dropped to swap the converter?

Thanks!

Why are you changing the converter? The pan does not have to come off to change the converter, although I recommend you change both filters and fluid when you do the swap.

Swapping to Edge 3k stall to match recently installed cam and other mods.

Honestly? I have no clue......unless I actually put it on the dyno some day and see. I just enjoy it as a hobby.

I never planned on doing the cam until the lifter made that decision for me. Pretty much full bolt ons at this point and the higher lift cam killed my launch. The mid range and top end are excellent though....stomping it at 40-50 feels like the ass end wants to jump off the ground and fly.

The 3k stall is matched/confirmed/recommended for everything I've done. This truck will never be boosted unless I win the lotto...lol

I'm pretty much done with performance mods at this point. Last 2 items are the converter and ATI damper/underdrive pulley that'll eliminate some nasty crank vibration above 6k rpms and free up some power to the rear wheels.

It'd be fun for sure! Nothing huge by any stretch but still would be nice to know. I have the lovely 545rfe on this truck so I can't throw but so much at it or risk grenading the tranny. It's truly just a fun daily driver.

Dynos are virtually nonexistent here but my friend that's doing the install for me is trying to change that. He just bought a large shop he's overhauling and plans to add a dyno. Would be awesome. He's a mustang guy...we are trying to get along....lol

Who installed your cam and what all did it cost you?
I have a thread on here that details it all. Let me.see if I can find it and I'll drop a link in here...on my phone now.

Things have settled in nicely since the install and I'm constantly looking for excuses to drive it....lol
