New member Had problems with fuel pump sensor on 2014 ram 1500 hemi only had 24,000 miles received no support. Told myself when it’s fixed iam done with ram. So i went to test drive other trucks started with new tundra my truck was smoother faster and handle better plus for 37,000 dollars you don’t evenget a mirror on the sun visors. Then I drove a Silverado same experience. These trucks all cost 15000 thousand more than I payed for mine. I only paid 21000 with 18000 miles on it last year. Then I realized what a great deal I got. They had nothing on my ram especially the hemi and the ride. Still mad about the sensor I mean come on 24000 miles

I hear ya man. I owned a 2006 300C for 4 years and then a 2011 300C for 4 years before I bought my Ram. I love the GMC look, test drove a few, and they ran like **** to me for various reasons. Tried a Chevy and hated everything about it, couldn't even bring myself to try the Ford since I've driven my uncle's a bunch. The Rams kept calling to me for the price, ride, and interior balance. I hesitated for so long because I wanted the light color luxury interior like my 300C's, but I felt like the light interior in the Rams looked like poop smeared over luxury. To me, I keep coming back to the Chrysler brand for a reason. I feel like the value can't be beat. You can certainly get the ****** luck of the draw and get a vehicle with some issues, but then again, what brand can't you? After a year of looking around and just unsure, I saw my beauty, which is the one I have toady and you guessed it, it's a ram.

I've had a couple of weird crappy issues with my my Chryslers in the past, but I luckily had a 5 star dealer to work with. I think that's key with anything you buy.

Dont get the support thing? Was it under warranty? If so it should have been covered...

Sounds like a dealer issue.. all brands have dealers that are less than others

OP..Ya got a good deal on as barely used truck and your all in a huff about a sensor.....Do you know how many would die for a nice trk with only a sensor issue that be fixed?????

No car or truck is perfect and they all have issues.....Hell you might have taken that new toyota and been a 100 % lemon, what then???

Had a 2010 and only issue it had for the 20,000 mi i used it was with pwr steering box.....It was barely off warranty and dealer covered it anyways....Coulda been over a grand to fix but its not that big of a deal and i woulda done it..Love my old ram....So far with my 16 i got new,i had a right wheel sensor and head unit given me issues but they got covered....Again i wouldnt have been happy bout it but woulda paid for it to be fixed cause its just little things....

Now if engine blew up well then thats a huge expence, then i woulda been pissed...

Welcome!!
As rare as it is sometimes sensors do fail before you'd expect. Just wish getting it fixed was a lot easier. A number of other owners have shared the similar experiences comparing to the competition like you did. Sometimes it's good to see what else is out there and realize why you bought your truck originally.

I owned a 2013 F150 and two 2014 Silverado's before my last truck, a 2015 Laramie and my current truck, a 2017 Laramie. The Ford rode like **** and the seats were hard as a brick. It was a beast thought with the 3.5 Ecoboost. It had a 45-50 MPH vibe that couldn't be fixed. Both the 2014 Silverado's were vibrating ****boxes from the beginning. Multiple attempts to fix on both to no avail. Kept the 2015 Ram for two years and decided I wanted a Charger but couldn't deal with my ass dragin' the ground so I took it back the next day and got another Laramie for less than I paid for the first one. Sold the 2015 to a buddy of mine. He already had the cam and lifter problem at 32K miles. With all that being said I'm going to get a Maxcare before the 3/36 ends and keep on driving because all the other trucks out there that I might consider I've already owned and nobody can seem to fix them. At least with the Ram if/when something goes wrong it can be fixed from what I've seen so far.

The truck was 2 months over warranty. I understand things break on anything it was rams attitude that struck a bad cord with me. Fuel pump sensor no small fix. Ram had a lot of issues with this problem it should of been a recall issue. The whole point was to say I realized what a good truck I got. I fix most things myself anyway. I like the way Gmctrucks look but I found that the ram rode just as good but the hemi was smoother and more powerful and all for less money. They were new but only by 26,000 miles, not worth the trade.

This 2011 Ram 1500 ST is my first. I have been a life-long Ford fan, but never considered Chr Co as quite the "enemy" that I considered GM to be. Chrysler products always had the reputation for solid engineering in their drive-trains. The slant six was indestructible and the 318 and other engines were legend. Chrysler automatic transmissions were likewise strong and well engineered. My problem with Chy co was always body integrity--they seemed more prone to rust that the others--although you can see rusted examples of almost everything out there.
I have been driving Ford Diesel pickups for 20 years, 1984 F250 and then a 1994 F250 turbo--both were the IDI engines and very reliable.
But when I began researching to replace the 1994 ( at 278,000 miles) Ford's recent history troubled me. First they had that problem where they saved a penny or two by reducing the amount of spark plug threads and then the 2 piece spark plug fiasco. That its pretty much in the range of trucks I was looking at. Don't need those kinds of problems. Never really liked the Power Stroke.
Then I stumbled on this 2100 RAM 1500 St--yes, it is a base truck--not even power door locks--but I can fix that. The ride was exceptional considering the 137,000 miles on the odometer. It did not feel "all used up" but solid and quiet. ( Did I mention I have been driving diesels for 20 years?) The Ram must be 10-15 db quieter at 60 mph--that is relaxing and makes long drives far more pleasant.
It was an easy choice--I can't believe the power from only 4.7l. The old Mustang GT made 225 HP from 5 liters and that was pretty good. This makes nearly 100 more HO from less displacement--amazing.
Now, if i can just find a good repair manual.....

I agree it should have been covered by the warranty....I'd call the Chrysler home office and see what they can do.

I also agree that a simple sensor would not be a reason to trade trucks. When dealing with mass production, there are always a few trucks that will have issues....hence the factory warranty, as they realize not all vehicles will be perfect.

I bought a 2013 Ram 2500 hemi on a Friday, and it was in the shop on Monday for a fuel pump...then I drove it 104,000 miles towing a 5th wheel and never had one issue. **** happens.

I did test drive the other major brand trucks when I opted to trade for a 1/2 ton....Ram was the best, had the most options and the cheapest price.
