Now that I'm back in vegas, first thing on the list of things to do was to try out some red plasti-dip on my interior and I think I'm going to like it. Pulled just the driver side vent, sprayed it, and threw it back in and I'm pretty happy with how it looks. I will need to pull it back off though when I do the rest of the interior because there's still a small touch of silver showing here and there where I thought that dash would cover. But for now, it'll stay and I look forward to getting the rest of the pieces done at a later time.

Clean looking for sure, good workmanship. I gotta say though, if you do all of your trim pieces you'll end up looking like a rice burner IMO. Also, if you're set on doing it, why not just paint it, plasti dip isn't known for its durability.

That's cool. I've thought about doing the gunmetal plasti dip

I'd like it better if it was smooth and glossy. That's the main reason why I don't care for plastidip.

I'm only doing the silver trim pieces, so it'll look something like Trups interior. So I guess that means Trups a rice burner look a like? haha.

The reason why I don't want to paint is because if you do, you gotta clear it and thus makes the surfaces shiny during the day time and with the lovely vegas sun around me...they're really going to shine. And the real reason behind why I don't want shiny stuff in my cab is because ever since my laser eye surgery, I get a nice irritating haze/glare off the silver trim pieces. It's not super bad but it's irritating enough for me to try out plasti-dip.

And as far as durability goes, I've had my center console bezel plasti-dipped for about a year and a half now and it still looks exactly like it did the day I painted it. Maybe red will be a little different, who knows, I'm willing to try. The two cans only cost me 28 bucks so if it does start to fail, I'm willing to bet it'll take a long time and I'd only be down 28 bucks.
