State Of Florida states after 4 repairs that if the truck can't be repaired on the 5th time They must buy it back. This is the 5th time and they seem to not want to repair it.

I don't know Florida law, but at least in California, the dealer isn't compelled to buy back the vehicle unless you sue and file a complaint (whereby you probably get a settlement buyback or lump sum or cash and keep). They try to insulate themselves from frivolous buyback claims. You could have 20 work orders for the same repair and they can still tell you to go kick rocks. In my experience with the buy back process, the number of repair work orders are a lot like a restraining order - useless but necessary documentation for useful legal action.

GM bought my high country back. It had 9 repair trips and 40 days out of service with no fix. Problems...abs went off when turning, vibration in driveline at 1900-2000 rpms, transmission lurched when putting in gear , also made a clunk in slow Speed situations which made it feel/sound like you got rear ended. I was told by dealership owner who is my neighbor and I thought, a good friend, that GM wouldn’t do anything and he could offer me a trade but I’d lose 8 k on a 9 mo old truck. I said no thanks and filled out lemon law papers, and wrote a letter to GM. 3 weeks later I had a buyback offer for what I owed and 4K check. Too bad my buddy left me hanging or I’d be in a 19 Silverado [emoji15][emoji6]

Agree with the last two posts. Ram or the dealer are not going to help you until you contact a lawyer. Google a couple in your area and tell them your story. They will decide whether they think you have a case or not. Won’t cost you a dime till you reach an agreement or take them to court. And then they’ll either take part of your settlement or collect their fees from FCA if you go to court.

The have had my truck for over a total of 15 times for repairs, The only complaint I am making is they should be able to fix a single item repair in a maximum 2 two trips not 5 and counting

You didn't say the truck was in the shop 15 times. Then you said 5 trips. All I read as issues were leak and radio.
The situation you describe is confusing.
Try a different dealer.

I once had a dealer buy back a USED car from me with out any hassle at all I've gotten things replaced that were completely out of warranty before. The Majority of people seem to approach problems with their vehicle the wrong way in my opinion. . 5 trips to the dealer? 15 trips? or whatever. If you can't communicate your issues and discuss solutions appropriately with the right person at the dealership then you'll never get anything done in a timely fashion. You have to be pro-active. Sounds Pretty harsh to demand a Lemon Law replacement of a vehicle because the radio doesn't work.

5 times for radio only That doesn't include all the other problems.

Hey mtnrider, thanks for looping us in.

Hi 2019ramtruck,

We're so sorry to hear you're having this experience with your Ram. If you can send us a PM with your VIN and more information, we can certainly look into this further for you.

I have used the lemon law in two states over the years, and threatened a 3rd until the dealer made it right and sold me a new 2016 after a bad 2015 I purchased. I did HAVE to deal with Ram cares and they DID apply pressure to the dealership.

The first 2 were Fords, the last being a Ram.

I would have done so with a 16 ZO6 (cooling issues) and possibly a 13 Chevy Avalanche, but I sold both due to Chevy's **** poor customer care. Thank you to Chevy for making me a huge Ram fan.

Bottom line, when you spend 40-90k on a vehicle the experience shouldn't suck. Everything mechanical is subject to problems, it's how the company that is selling these to you responds and values you as a consumer.

@OP - have you interacted with Jennifer at RamCares from this post and can you share your experience with her/them?

Good luck with the situation and I hope whatever the outcome, it lands you back in the vehicle (completly fixed or a replacement) that made you want to spend a bunch of money on it in the first place.

well I am sorry to hear you have had so many problems. I have a 2018 Power Wagon- interior light malfunctioning- unit was replaced and is fine
Radio same as yours was turning on and off, at times I could not shut it off, screen remained blank at times- dealer said radio needed to be reprogrammed that did not work- dealer said radio needs replacement so I made an appointment then after driving on a 2 day journey I went back to the dealer to get radio installed and they checked the old unit out and it seems that while driving for such a long period the radio reset itself and I still have it in my truck for over a month now and the old one is still working fine. The dealer said it likely needed to just do a update on its own

as for the rest of the truck it is everything my Ford Raptor was and I am very pleased with it

Having experienced issues with the UCONNECT in our 2014 Chrysler 300C and being a computer geek the central problem with those systems is likely not any of those mentioned by the dealer. In our case the dealer said the UCONNRCT dash unit would need replacement. Seriously questioning that determination and having experienced several electrical problems with the same vehicle I said no way. Why? Simple, whatever diagnostic routines or software used totally fail to address power to the unit. There are eight switches outside of the unit that can affect UCONNECT function. First is the ignition switch, second is the rotary volume control and sound mute switch below the unit's display screen, volume channel switches in the steering wheel, and believe it or not the driver ans passenger interior door handles. As with any logic circuity the first place to check is any and all connectors for loose connection and/or corrosion. The 2nd item ia particularly suspect because it is not only a push on/off switch it is also a voltage varying variable resistor using a carbon film track.

The woes in our 300c was fixed by rotating the volume control from stop to stop several times and multiple operation of the push button. $700 problem solved with a few minutes of my time.

Overall when it comes to electric/electronic issues dealers appear to have zero competent support from Chrysler. Sad! But even with that said, we just took deliver on a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit in blow you away Velvet RED Pearl Coat paint which is more like a metal flake than pearl.

Didn't read each and every post but it looks like the same dealership has been doing the work. Why people stick with 1 dealership, I have no idea! Take the truck to some place else and have another RAM service department look at it and don't go in with an attitude, just talk to the service advisor and explain what's been going on and talk to them. Some dealers are CRAP and some exceed your expectations.

I say this and think it's the most important because I have run into problems at one dealership and went to another and it's day and night! I had a Scion and the dealership I got it from in Memphis were POS! Went to the Scion / Toyota dealer here - AMAZING! Had a Kia Sorento I purchased in Little Rock - Good service. My work car is a Kia Forte my company got here in town - dealer is USELESS! My RAM I got from Landers in Benton, AR outside of Little Rock - EXCELLENT from the test drive to the service dept. Thought I would get a recall done here in town at the local RAM dealership. I think their point was to force you to wait for hours so each and every salesman could bombard you, trying to get you to buy a new one while you were forced to wait.

Due diligence! Is it really a lemon that can't be fixed or do you keep taking it to the same place and now both you and the dealership have bad blood?

If you are right about that then the law needs to change. He bought, in good faith, a fully functioning vehicle and FCA is not living up to their end of the bargain. These trucks are crazy expensive and he deserves to have a fully functioning vehicle. I feel his pain because I have a 2019 limited with issues too and because another new vehicle preforms the same way, they call that normal. Taking the truck back to the dealer 5+ times is not the answer. They need to step up and fix his truck and he should be compensated. That is my opinion on that.

I feel bad for you, truly they are great trucks. I bought mine in 2017, and I absolutely love it. I hope they fix your issue.

I bought my 1500 in April. At first I had flooding in my truck due to a leak with less than 100 miles on it. That was fixed with me calling customer service. Since then I have had more problems that encompass the radio, GPS, and my interior light malfunctioning. Starting on 5/12/18 and still going on today, we kept informing them of messages that come up on the radio of (no antenna connection). Radio will automatically mute itself. it states on gps we are 100's of miles from were we actually are. Every time we take it to the dealership we would have video of what it was doing. There claim was that since they cannot duplicate it, there was nothing wrong with the radio. We are NOW on our 5th time for the same repair. We have informed the state of Florida under "The Lemon Law" act and also informed Chrysler of this. It was finally brought in while it was creating the same problem (will no longer fix it self), Gator Chrysler informed us that the antennae and the modulator were NO GOOD! Less than 24 hours later, we were informed that it didn't fix the problem and that it must now be in the radio. This is what we have been stating all along. The dealer now claims that they need permission from Chrysler to replace the radio. Chrysler will not call to talk to the dealership. It looks like they will be buying back a truck.

My Uconnect changes volume at will and cuts out from time to time. Every month or so, it simply refuses to connect to a bluetooth device, and I have to run through the pairing process to restablish connections. The NAV system never did give good directions. The air suspension sometimes fails to move and has to sit overnight to reset and respond to any commands. The Rambox doors are misaligned the headlights aren't very bright.

And it's still a great trick, not a lemon, and I wouldn't risk a return to the dealer to look at any of these minor issues. It would be in worse condition after they touched it that it is now.

Did you ever get a new Uconnect unit under warranty? Had to have them swap mine out once before cause it was having some strange issues, been flawless ever since though.
