Mine is the same exact way. It's like a squeal and compression sound

Now I hear it. Yeah mine does not do that. I assume both of you guys had your truck built within the tsb dates? Idk if that is the wrist pin issue. Visit dealer yet?

Haven't had a chance yet. I bought mine in mid January. I didn't notice it until the weather got warmer. I'll try and get one Monday when I get back home. And probably bring it to the dealer soon.

You need to know build date of the truck. If it's between the dates of the tsb It could be affected . If you were anywhere near the buffalo area I would meet up with you. I know your quite a distance away though

My truck built 2 of 14 well before the tsb date.... dealer said it's normal sound from the engine.... I'm not buying it... that was from a local dealer not the deal I bought it from.

If it's normal then why do some some like crap and some are quiet? I think it's BS that they sound like this when they didn't sound like that when they were new..... also seems to get louder the more miles it gets on it...

Cc riders truck sounds pretty quiet to me, some fan noise isn't a big deal to me... but this squealing crap is a joke.

It's not unusual for an engine sound to change over time. It's really hard to get an accurate representation of a sound through a video. Maybe it sounds different in person but nothing sounds abnormal to me.

Yeah. I think you definitely have an issue. On mine With the hood closed you don't hear a peep

I agree. And nothing sounds detrimental to the longevity of the engine either.

I don't care if the isn't going to blow up or not... I'm pissed because I didn't spend 46 grand on a truck to sound like a pile of crap, no engine should sound like this driving. When people stop on the sidewalks and stare you know your truck sounds like crap.

All the videos posted share the same sounds mine made that the dealer ship more or less quietly lemon'd... however it is on their lot to be sold as a used truck...

As mentioned the sound was much more noticeable near the back of either front tire either under the rocker or the wheel well... my would squeal as others would when put in drive.

very fortunate and very grateful that my dealership got me out of it, that noise was driving me insane... may be nothing and it may be something...

Avolnek,
U think mine is noisy? The only sound I hear is the belt noise. And I've heard much louder on other engines. Being such a big motor, u would expect it to hear it, but not rattling or squealing like others say they are experiencing. I think it's hard to capture on a phone . You're not going to get a clear accurate sound. But, maybe I'll take another one from a few feet away and post it. I think you'll see there is no noise. Give me a day

CC Rider,

I have since deleted all of my videos, but while i was bickering with ram and my dealership i had recorded the start up every day! i emailed them to my dealerships manager for proof of the situation. I felt that you could hear the best with the hood closed and near the rear of either front tire. I would especially hear it when i was parked in the garage over night and pulling out. It would echo so bad...

Same noise was heard when accelerating through town, you could hear it bounce off of cars next to you or buildings.. the sound never truly went away but did quiet down.

That's the way mine is it never completely goes away just gets quieter. When towing at 60 when I pass a grove of trees to can hear it echoing off the trees. In town it's off everything it echoes.

Took my truck in yesterday to the dealer and they said they didn't hear anything abnormal. So it's either just how the 6.4L's sound or I'm being a bit picky. The only tsb they found was for a exhaust ticking sound under load and/or driving Highway speed. And the fix is replacing the muffler. Since I don't have the stock muffler anymore that doesn't apply to me.
