The front sway bar is rubbing against the shock absorbers

Hi guys,

My name is Jens, and I’m from Stuttgart/Germany. First of all, greetings to all of you! I’m happy to be part of the community and hope someone can help me with an issue I’m having.

I’ve only owned my 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 for about two months, and I have absolutely no experience with US trucks, so I’m still learning.

My truck has a Fabtech 5-inch lift kit installed, and I’ve noticed that the front sway bar is rubbing against the shock absorbers on both sides.

Has anyone else experienced this problem with a Fabtech 5” lift? Is this a known issue?

If so, what was your solution? Did you use different sway bar end links, relocation brackets, different shocks, or another fix?

I’d really appreciate any advice, photos of your setup, or any tips you can share.

Welcome to the forum. From the pictures it looks like your shocks are rubbing on a lot more than just the sway bar. You are likely going to need to relocate the shocks or look at changes to the control arms. Whoever did the lift install was not very good at what they do. I would take it into a shop that specialises in lifts and have them look at it. If it has this issue, there are likely a lot more things not right with the lift.

Your endlinks on the anti sway appear to be stock .
The sides of the bar should be parallel to the road , if it had extended links it would give it more space ,and eliminate that rubbing.
