I'd be willing to bet that lots of the time its the same factory making the same stuff - just different labels. Still gives me a bit of a bad feeling about a mechanic that I used to completely trust. Why couldn't he have given me the option?

It is. That doesn't mean it's the same product built to the same spec. The widget factory doesn't crank out one type of widget where every customer's specs are the same quality. Your mechanic did you a solid.

There isn't any shop that's going to use Amazon parts to repair a vehicle,they aren't going to spend the time on a computor to hunt up parts on Amazon,and then pray to hell they're any good.That's on you if you want to use Amazon parts.
Bashing the shop because they didn't give you an Amazon option is whacked thinking on your part :rolleyes:
