Just noticed that my dashboard light, behind the speedometer etc., I am experiencing a consistent flicker of the back light when the brightness is dimmed. Issue seems to go away when it is up against the detent, on in the detent, at the brightest setting. Not sure if I can post video to this message, but have it share at the dealer.

No customizations whatsoever with bulbs, interior or exterior. Any thoughts? Ever happen to anyone out there?

Thanks!

I've had the same issue since day one but only in really dim.

That’s where it’s at it’s worst, but I have it across the dimming spectrum. Ever seek a solution for it? Explanation?

Sometimes it’ll flicker completely dark (not for any length of time). No flicker on my center console display.

Thanks.

I Havnt worried about it. I heard somewhere along the lines of an led driver but I'm not sure. I usually have super bright lights on outside the truck so I don't notice as much. [emoji16] but yeah it's only the speedo dash cluster nowhere else..

When you say LED driver, is that a component of some sort?

Yeah the driver turns 12-15volts into 2-5v what's supposedly going on is its basically going too low in voltage or kind of modulating so it's turning on and off the power. I'm not 100% sure if that's it or not. I'm curious if this is a cluster issue or a dimmer issue.

Does the flicker frequency increase with engine speed? Does it do it with the engine off? I'm wondering if it's a faulty alternator outputting ripple.

Haven’t tried it with engine off. Don’t see a connection to engine speed in the drive.

It’s much colder today than usual, not that should cause the issue.

The link earlier suggests it’s not unique to me, so that’s reassuring if nothing else.

I'm pretty sure there's a software update for this.

I had to trick my dealer into doing mine, since I have an SXT with the LED gauge cluster which doesn't actually exist for my model year.....

Just noticed this issue the other night! First time it happened, was colder that night attributed it to that when it didn't do it 2 nights later.

Yep, same conditions me too. Found a thread that there may be a TSB for it, but nothing concrete that I have found.

There are other threads here about this.

My truck did it and I'm on my third gauge cluster now. Dealer diagnosed as defective cluster and replaced under warranty.

I assume that is under the 36k and not the power train warranty.
