Hey Guys

I plain on installing airbags on my truck to keep it level when towing my travel trailer. I selected 2 different kits that I would like to use but would like to have input on either one of them.

I am looking at Air Lift load lifter 5000 or the Timber Grove. I do notice you can get the Air Lift in stainless which I am leaning towards since I live in NJ and they use salt in the winter.

I would like to hear what you guys use.

Thanks
Joe

I'm between the 2 also. I live in Michigan and not sure I can justify the stainless. If powdercoated correctly, there will be no issue. I like the way the Timber Grove install better but that's personal preference. The Air Lift is cheaper.

I had bad experience with the Airlift 1000s. I know a lot of guys have good luck with them and the 5000s, but their customer service after one of the bags failed (after only a year or so) did not give me comfort that upgrading to the 5000 kit would be a good move. I went the Timber Grove route. Yes, they are a bit more, but sometimes you get what you pay for. I also like the fact that I can go back to stock easily if I wanted to, as there is no grinding off the factory bump stop plates like you have to with the 5000s.

No issues at all with the Timber Groves to date, and the install was pretty easy.

I have the Timber Grove installed on my 2017. Seem to be high quality. Easy install, as jasonw said, no grinding.

The 5000s require no grinding either. All bolt on.

Airlift has since changed the mounting design of the all 5000's airbag kits for the 1500 trucks, you no longer have to cut off the bump stop cup, it's a bolt on kit.
I went with TLC airbags over Airlift for the same reason, and TLC uses a Goodyear airbag which was larger in diameter than the Timber Groves. Lower air pressure is needed with the larger bags which gives a better ride. Unfortunately TLC went out of business.

I'd have to think that the little tin tray looking thing on the top and bottom of the Air lift would hold water, dirt, salt and rust.

My Timber Groves are working great, but I have not had them long. Easy install and the hardware looks to be well designed.

Good to know about the revision to the 5000s, thank you.

When I went into the market, I was surprised to see TLC had gone out of business. It made my decision to go with Timber Groves easier, but I was sad to not have the option.

Comments like this are why I went with Timber Grove. I haven't installed them yet due to lack of intersection of "good weather" and "free time", but I hope to do it before camping season arrives.
