Hey guys and girls. I'm new to the hemi. I'm looking to get all I can out of the hemi with out a tuner for now.
So my questions are what's on the market ?
Will the ECM add a little more timing/fuel with a lower degree t stat?
Will I see any gains with a throttle body with out tunes?
My plan as of now is CAI, high flow cats, 14" magnaflow

Thanks in advance.

I say go get a race land cutout and put it behind your cats, that'll really get some air moving lol

But in actual sense, I'd recommend corsa if you want high flow cats that have a good tone to them.
Also like chaney stated above, I'd recommend the 85mm ptb. Getting the 87mm will show gains, but not as well w/o a tuner.
I have the 180 jet tstat as well, but have no comments on it since I don't have a place to drain my radiator to install it.
And as for the CAI people are raving about the S&B intake. It looks good, performs well, and has a good price.

if you're serious about getting the RIPP save the money and don't get anything... You won't be able to run it after you install the RIPP anyways... 350 dollars towards your goal.

I have access to a RIPP kit right now for a good price. It's used, but still cheaper than new. Just debating if I want to run the RIPP or another brand that offers warranty on power train. I don't think RIPP offers this.

Lol that happens a lot with those two

A billet tech catch can basically stops oil and crud from getting into you're intake.

That's what I was thinking it was. I have one one my Powerstroke to keep oil out of the intercooler from the crank case vent.

Not much of a "performance" mod, but keeps octane levels stable, and saves the motor. Sucker is about 3/4s the size of a coke can. Let it go 6k miles and the dang thing is filled to the brim with oil and crap. Check and dump it ever 3k and youll be glad you got it.

True story ^^^

The guys pretty much have it all summed up. Another mod I suggest is an aftermarket tq converter. Converters are hands down 1 of the best mods you can do to these trucks, and they dont require any form of tuning. The intake, exhaust, and throttle body are all going to help your motor make more power, but the tq converter is going to help you put that power to the ground. No sense in having a strong motor if you are losing all that power through a weak stock converter.

Well that answered one of my next questions.

How efficient is the trans coolers on these trucks ? Are should it be upgraded ? I do a lot of towing.

The trans cooler is fine. If you want a little extra protection, you can always throw a deeper transmission pan on there. That will be cheaper and easier than swapping out the trans cooler. If you tow alot, then a 2600 stall converter combined with the basic intake and exhaust mods will really wake up your truck while still being very reliable.

True statement....it's why I really need to stop fooling around and save up some cash so I can by a converter. Planning on getting a 2600 myself because I do off road occasionally.
