timing chain issue!!!

ok bought 3 timing chains 2 stock and 1 double roller ok now this is the original engine and has never been touched before block was in perfect shape for just a bottle hone job now whats strange is i have slack in the chain why i dont know all of them are that way it runs and it runs great after i rebuilt the engine it has never had any line hone done at all because that was my first thought now i did however find a timing chain tensioner online has anyone at all installed one and does it work with the double roller set i dont know how to post a pic but im sure some of u guys know what im talking about i just hit my 500 mile mark to change the oil after break in its a 2001 dodge ram sport 5.9L please let me know what u guys and gals think please and thank u

You don't have to use the t chain tensor but many people do like me. Its a very good part if you can find it in stock.

Merc turned me on to the tensioner. Double roller with tensioner and would not do it any other way. Over a year on the timing set/plenum fix and it just purrs with 160K on the clock.

well i ordered the chain tensioner lastnight should be here today because now my truck sounds like a mini diesel running with chain slapping lol hope this works

ok got it on and it works great sound gone i only hear now a very faint slight tick why i dont know but i think i can live with it
