Our laws up here are kindda vague. But thats good news for me. Laws stats that the driver must be able to see the rh corner of the hood unobstructed. Also be able to see the car in fronts tire contact the ground, unobstructed. So that 14 inches of clear window meets all those requirements.

used to have 35% on my whole windsheild, but decided to take it off. Sucks driving at night! I would strongly suggest 50%

Had 50% on my Jeep JK and '12 RAM. Reduces glare during day and no difference at night. Buddy of mine has 35% and its not too bad at night but he also has 1% on his fronts and two layers of 5% on the back three windows so it's kind of a b*tch. Need to do my current RAM but haven't gotten around to it yet...

Wow! You guys are pretty lucky. Down here in Texas you're not really supposed to tint the front windshield. You can use a clear UV film. Other than that you can only tint the top 5" with 25% or lighter. I went with 90% 3M crystalline film. I should have gone 70% as you really can't tell it's there either. But, it would've been special order and a 2 week wait so I just went with 90%. The tint shop was also very reluctant to do the 70% and I can understand why.

This has to be one of the most dangerous and stupidest mods I could imagine. To intentionally reduce your visibility by that much is just ridiculous. The partial ones are absurdly annoying. I'm 6' tall and every one I've been in stops right in the middle of my field of vision. I have light blue eyes and light bothers me, I wear sunglasses all the time, and I wouldn't even consider this.

You do realize there is a decent argument for the added safety value. I actually find driving at night to be easier with a tinted windshield. No glare from oncoming traffic on dark country roads means your eyes have to adjust less and less rapidly. No temporary loss of night vision every time an oncoming car appears.

I also find the same true for the side windows being tinted. No glare in the mirrors from cars behind.

I've had tinted windows on all my vehicles for 20 years now and never an issue. I drive in town a lot and live in the country where I drive a lot of dark country roads so.....

50% on windshield. I'd love to go 40 but I think it would be a touch too dark.

I love it. Keeps glare down day and night. Oncoming traffic doesn't blind ya. I can see just fine. And helps keep people out of my business. With the black leather interior everything is just dark enough from the outside that it's hard to see what's going on. In my line of work it's often best to just keep general public from seeing what's often going on while driving around anyways.

Plus, and I'm not trying to be rude or sound like a player, but women seem to really feel "safe" in a vehicle with everything including windshield tinted up like no one can see what they are doing and what they are, or are not wearing.

This was my last truck. You can't even see who is sitting in the passenger seat and she was one of the very appreciative ones of the added privacy.

I have %35 on mine and %15 everywhere else. I think it's perfect. Kills glare from other cars at night, keeps inside cooler during the summers...

Was overcast that day. Looks darker than it really is.

I think the original post was referring to tinting the ENTIRE windshield, not just the top strip.

I like the idea of tinting the front, but at about a 55%. Anyone in Texas have theirs done? Specifically around the DFW area? Curious as to how much issues you have from the police.

I'm torn on the full windshied. I think 55 or more is waaaaay too dark and a hazard. I was mulling over 80 or 90, but idek if I would do that

I have Ultra Performance 65 on mine. Super pricey but well worth the extra heat rejection
