My wife and I will be moving back south to Florida at the end of this month, where we get 50 to 60 inches of rain a year. Our other truck is a 2012 Ram 1500 2wd. I am going to replace the worn out Goodyear Wrangler SRA tires before we leave. Any opinions on a good cost effective highway tire for a rainy climate? The Goodyear’s seemed to do fine, but I know they are not know to have good hydroplane resistance. I feel it’s time to go with a better choice. Any opinions are greatly appreciated. Thanks

The best highway tire seem to be the Michelins by all reports. can't recall the model but some searches will find it for you if someone doesn't pipe in in the meantime.

The Michelin LTX is a great tire, but a little pricey for me. In my eyes though, that is probably the best tire. The Goodyear Wrangler SRA’s have done good for the last 3yrs, but have gotten cracks in them all the way around the tires.

I just recently purchased a set of Michelin LTX tires for my 2016 Big Horn 4x4.I've had them on another truck and was very impressed with them.I live in FL. and I can vouch for their performance in wet weather. They're also a smooth rider and very quiet

In the next couple of months, I will be replacing the OEM Firestone Transforce AT's with something better. The good news is that my tire guy can get me just about anything I want. The bad news is that when he asked how many miles I have on my 2017 Laramie 2500, I told him "~22,500... with one-fourth of that towing the 8,000# trailer and mostly highway driving."

His next comment was, "with a Diesel, anything much more than 20,000 miles on a set of truck tires is a bonus, even if you don't push it too hard. The Diesel has a lot more torque which means more abrasion against the road surface."

His most popular brands for trucks like mine are Michelin, Firestone, Cooper, and Continental. I guess more research is in order.
