I have the jitters! Of course, my new 17 has the jitters around 60 mph, I brought it to a tire shop that I know uses the old fashion balancers, Coats type machines. They were all out of balance, but while balancing the tires, they noticed that 2 moved around a little when hand spun on the balancer, 2 moved a lot while on the balancer, I could even see it 30 feet away.

My question is, I know the SR-A's are not the best tires, but the chances of having 2 separated is very slim. So, I'm wondering, the truck was on the lot 9 months before I bought it, it had 45 miles on it when I test drove it. Is there any chance of sitting there could flat spot the tires? Or am I reaching? If so, is that even covered under the tire warranty, like the separation would be.

Also, don't know if this makes a difference, all 4 tires were at 33 psi when I test drove it. I asked the dealer if that would be fixed when I took delivery, they said "of course so". But it wasn't. I had to drive a block and fill them up myself.

And I did feel the vibration when I test drove it, I just thought it was the interstate where I was, as it was 2 hours from my house and I wasn't as familiar with the roads as I should have been.

Thanks in advance.

How many miles are on it now? I would take it to and or dealership and let it be there problem a brand new truck shouldn't vibrate or anything.

It's actually a pretty common issue. I had the same vibration, took it back and they rebalanced the tires. It went away 90%. Now I have aftermarket suspension and new wheels....and it's all gone. :Big Laugh:

I'm just surprised the tires had 33 PSI when you test drove. The factory overfills the tires in prep of the vehicle sitting on the dealer lot for xx # of days. When I picked up my 392 the other month they had 52 or 53 PSI all around lol. My Ram was also filled to some insane pressure, like 95 or something.

Yeah, I saw that it was a common issue, and the tires are balanced, but there is still a vibration. Obviously the tires should not be moving around when you spend them. When I saw the tire pressure, I was like ???????? I'm going to the dealer tomorrow.

Oh yeah, I'm now at 401 miles.

Good years are famous for out of round tires. I think the limit allowed is 0.0040” out. If you have two like that and they “align” together, it’s going to be a rough ride.

Go for the Road force balance. It costs more but I guarantee it will make a hell of a difference. For some reason regular old spin balancing just doesn't seem to cut it with these 20"s.

From what I had read, several posters had recommended doing the old style. I went to the dealer this morning, they said they could not look at it. I asked why not, I had an appointment, they said they had no record of an appointment. I even showed them the email showing the appointment confirmation, and they still denied I had an appointment, and they couldn't look at my car today.

Needless to say, I have already filed a complaint with FCA, not that it matters. Not a good experience already. I may go by an authorized GY location, and see what they can do. I know that 2 tires are bad, maybe all 4. I spoke with GY, and they said I can go that route instead of thru the dealer.

400 Miles!!!!!!! Don’t take anywhere but back to the dealer and make them fix the issue and whatever costs. If they have to give you new SRAs then so be it.

My buddy put a set of new goodyears on the upgraded 20s i swapped him on his 16 bighorn. Had a vibration, tire shop said 2 of the wheels were bent, took it to a wheel repair place, wheels were perfect. Went back to goodyear, 3 of the 4 tires were out of round. Upside Goodyear replaced all 4 tires at no cost to him.

I know a couple of the vehicles I've bought the tires were warrantied by tire manufacture, not FCA. Is it still that way? The problem with that is you get caught in the middle of the wheel is bent, no, tire isn't round. Even though my truck came with SRA's, my dealer pushes Firestones, not that I'd buy new tires from my dealer anyways.

I've already bought one full set of tires for my previous Ram (2015 Laramie) and they were Michelin LTX M/S and they vibrated like an SOB with the original spin balance. I ended up taking them to Firestone and getting the RFB and no more vibes. I hit something in the road a couple months ago and had a blow out and had to replace the rim and one tire. I bought the tire from Wallyword and of course they only do spin balancing so of course it has some slight vibration but I will eventually get it RFB. Who knows maybe i'm still screwed up from owning two Chevy Viberado's in 2013-2015.

I went by Tire Rack today after work, as recommended by Goodyear. All 4 tires are out of round, and are being replaced. Tomorrow I am calling them to let them know if I want to go with the SRA's as stock or another Goodyear. Looking at the ratings, Goodyear truck tires don't rate to well. I'm thinking of going with the Trailrunner AT's or Wrangler ATS. Does anyone have experience with either?

I went with the Trailrunner AT's, and man, what a difference. No more vibration! I was worried about being noisy, since they are a little aggressive. They are off / on road tires, but man they ride good and are quiet. I am quite pleased. I have never had problems with tires when buying a new car / truck, but Goodyear stepped up and backed their product.
