Hi another tire pressure question. I just put some 35x13.5 r20 ridge grapplers. The tire place put 60 psi front and 80 back. Was wondering what you guys are running not loaded and pulling a travel trailer. Also what are the thresholds for the front and back. Just don't want to wear on even this new tires..its a 2018 2500 6.7 cummins. Thank you

on my 18 CTD, I run 50 front and 45 rear unloaded. Toyo 35x12.5x20 ATs. I adjusted the thresholds so I wouldn't get a light. I think with the stock setting you can go down to 68 before the light comes on in the rears. 52 on the fronts. But I could be a little off on that.

60 & 80 is likely what's on your door placard. I have 35x12.5x18 Atturo XTs and run 50 front & 40 rear when empty. I air up to 65 rear when towing our 13k 5th wheel. I rent a device to adjust the threshold settings and the security bypass cable needed for the 18's.

The warnings will go off at 20% less than the door placard values. If 60/80 then 50/64 is the trigger point.

I've been wondering the same. I recently had LT325/50R22 Ridge grapplers put on my 3500 and they put 65 in the front and 80 in the rear. Tows great but feel every bump!

60 all the way around
Do you have constant weight in the bed? These trucks weigh 1000-1800 lbs less in the rear when empty. 10-15 less psi is common and what the Light Load button was for the the pre-13's.

FYI, the rears alarms will come on at 64 so 1 cool morning and you'll be airing them up to 80 to get all the warnings off.

No warning lights here. And front are actually set to 45. And tears are 40 by my air pressure gauge I use. [emoji41]

You must have a 3500 ... TPIS vs TPMS.

I have a contractor grade deep tool box full of tools and carry lumber regularly or a dog box that weighs a couple hundred lbs. I weigh on the scale right at 8000lbs

How did you get the threshold adjusted? The dealership won’t do it for me.

He does have a 3500. I rent a device that'll adjust the TPMS settings. Shoot me a PM for details.

Bingo! That reason alone I won’t even consider a 2500

With the correct knowledge and devices you can change a 2500 TPMS into the 3500 TPIS. I have both devices necessary and it's been done.

Check out the AlfaOBD thread in the DIY Section here. In short, there is a program called AlfaOBD that can do all sorts of adjustments to the truck. Tire pressures are one of them. Use the AlfaOBD program along with OBDlinkMX blue tooth adapter. Tons of info in that thread for this.

These things I’m aware of but I understood that the person I quoted had his done at the dealer. I’m curious about renting one as this tool is way the hell out of my budget and foreseeable future.
Thank you.
