Tire size

I have a stock 2023 ram 1500 bighorn/lonestar, 5.7 hemi. The stock oem tires on it are 275 55r20. My question is can I get away with a 275 60r20 tire without any rubbing or issues? Ive read mixed stuff. Some saying it may rub or it will, to others saying no it wont.

Im sure it will be fine.

The tires are only an inch taller…so really only a half inch closer to the fenders. Turn the tires in all directions and see what kind of clearance you have…if there is a half inch or more you should be good.

I agree, the additional height shouldn't be a problem.

I do assume it will throw off the speedometer if I go the next size up correct?

I did the exact thing with tire size, but I replaced front with Bilstein's 5100, and have had no problem at all. The only reason for the Bilstein was to level the truck, did not need them for this tire size switch.

jklberry is right on point, the only difference is that the speedometer is actually off by 1.6 mph, which will also affect odometer, I would guess.

My 19 came with 275/60/20s so 33" tire. I now run 275/65/20 a 34" tire with no issues

Your ‘19 must be a classic then…they switched to 275/55/20 with the new models.

The speed difference is not constant…its a percentage off. So the faster you go, the more its off.

Yep. I may just stay stock size when i swap out the factory tires just so i dont have to mess with that…although its not a big deal to do it.
