After many front and all wheel drive cars, I purchased a 5th Gen Ram 1500 crew cab 4X4 (Pentastar). Which tires generally wear faster - front or rear?

Idk if this is common but my back tires on my 2500 wore alot faster than the front. I just rotated them and the front were at 9/32 and the rears were 7/32 before rotation.

Generally on RWD vehicles the back may wear faster than the front but it wears more evenly which is why most people rotate tires back to front/front to back. I usually rotate every 6-7K miles and never had a problem.

Probably depends on your driving habits.

On my 2015 4x4 Quad Cab w/ Pentastar , Mine were fairly even but I do rotate them at 5/6k . But I think my front tires had a little more wear ! My AT/S tires I have on now seem to be wearing the same ! I should notice them more then the SR/A's because of the larger lugs !
Good question TAZ , Now I will pay closer attention as you have my curiosity up lol

If you are running stock pressures on the P rated tires the rears will go centrebare if you run unloaded.

it’s worth noting that there is a difference between P265/70/17 and 265/70/17 (or whatever size). P or no P and LT all will have different load ratings and associated load inflation index tables.

ie. my OEM P265/70/17 113 were to be inflated to 40psi as per my OE door sticker. The 265/70/17 115 I installed only require 34psi to have the same load capacity. The LT265/70/17 121 I have on it temporarily need 47psi to have the same load capacity. Soooo, without taking all those factors into consideration, it’s pretty easy to be over or under inflated and cause poor wear patterns.
