I looked in the sticky and used the search but I need little help. Leveling my truck tomorrow so will be getting taller tires soon. my question is what is the tallest tire I can put on my truck with factory 17" rims. I've looked around but not sure if my rims are 17x7 or 17x8. 2017 Ram SLT crew cab 4wd if that makes any difference

the wheel size should be stamped on the back of the wheel.

there were two wheel sizes available and if you got a pic we can probably tell you what size you have based on the design.

Your build sheet will tell you which wheels you have. Go here https://www.dodge.com/webselfservice/dodge/index.html Click on equipment listing on the left, enter VIN.
Thank you for that. It told me what I was afraid of, I have the 17x7 I wanted to run a bigger tire since I'm getting it leveled tomorrow but guess ill have to buy rims and tires now in order to run a 34 or 35" tire

Unless a 285/75/17 will fit a factory 17x7 rim with a lvling kit

You're generally gonna need a minimum of a 7.5" width for that tire according to the manufacturers (I checked Toyo and Cooper). Some shops won't mount them if they don't meet the recommended width requirement. The widest appears to be a 265 for a 17x7" wheel. You might be able to find a manufacturer that has a narrower minimum for a particular tire or an installer who'll do the 285 anyway.
