what are your favorite tire on your heavy duty ram? I do mild towing some mud and gravel but 80% road. I have the stock Firestone HT on now and they ride nice but don't do worth a darn once off the pavement.

It’s a great A/T tire
Check out the reviews on the Nitto website.
They have a 3200/tire rating load E 10 ply 50K warranty

I have Toyo Open Country Xtreme III on my 1500 (love them), almost 60k miles and I can probably go another year if I am lucky. The other tire I like, had on my '01 Ram, is the BFG All Terrain TA/KO. Good wear and good on and off road.

I just bought a set of used Hercules ironman 35/12.8r18 for a test run on my truck
They are very aggressive but most of my driving is pavement also
I have pulled my trailer with them and they did great I think
The guy I bought then from says he put about 10k miles on them with his Cummins truck
And so far I have put about 2500
And they still have a lot of tread
He said they were on his truck when he bought it did not sure on exact mileage
For less than $200 per tire for a 35"
When they need replaced I will try a new set and see how they go
What mud I have seen with them they are great
they feel stuck to the road in rainy driving
Overall I am pretty happy with them
They do make some noise on pavement but I am used to it now lol

I just got Toyo Open Country CT’s. I like them so far. Only have about 1,000 miles on them, so I cannot atest to their durability. However my buddy had them on his Duramax, and they lasted over 40k with a lot of heavy towing in that mileage.

Just put new ones on yesterday, went with Michelin Defender LTX M/S in 275/65R20. Did a ton of reading and these seem like they can do it all. They don't remotely look nice like a good all terrain does but from everything I've read they are a real sleeper in this category. I'm on road 90% of the time and when I'm off road it's not on seriously bad terrain so I think these will cover my needs.

Hopefully I'm moved to Tennessee by the time they need replaced and then I'll go to 18" rims with a bit more aggressive AT tire.

I'm watching all these tire threads closely because I'll be investing a chunk of money on new tires next year for my 2500. My OEM are Firestone 285/60/20's. I don't plan on leveling or lifting my truck as it's a dedicated tow vehicle. I do, however, hate the OEM size in comparison to my empty wheel wheel on my Megacab. Which alternative size would be more favorable to those running stock suspensions on 20" wheels, 275/65/20 or 295/60/20? The 275's would be narrower by .4 inches but a little taller. The 295's I think are just a bit wider. The selection of brands for 275/65/20's is much greater too. 295's seem very limited, just like the OEM size. Any thoughts?

I’ve always been a Cooper fan boy!
So when the time comes—> If this tire is still in production I will probably go this direction.
I will stay with the 285/60R20.

Today’s tire company’s have a totally different definition of All-Terrain then I do & what a true A/T should look like.

I only really have to deal with Snow/Ice/Rain. Some Sand getting to & from the camp grounds.
No mud! Truck never leaves the tarmac! (Off-Roading)

The stock Firestones (New) are not bad at all. It’s when the tread is wore down below 1/2 tread life is when they really drop in performance.

I have Nitto Terra Grapplers G2 on my stock wheels. Loved them! Literally the perfect tire. I have the Fuel AT tire on a set of 22" Rockstar 2s and they look great and wear great but throw a lil too much debris as I'm offroad a lot lol

I have the Nitto G2 in 295 60 20. Had them installed prior to my coils and they had no rub at all. Holding up well with over 20k.

I put these on my truck 1000 miles ago no complaints so far. No real difference in ride quality. Went a little on the aggressive side and get to wash my truck after every pothole now though.

Had a set of them on my old Mega Cab - got 90k out of them. Excellent road tires and OK on dirt roads... my truck was 2x4 and did OK in light snow. Never had an issue on the boat ramp either.
