So as a few of you saw I installed my Tyger Tonneau Cover. So Tyger says no to Auto Car Wash.. What do you all say? Who runs there's thru the Car Wash? I don't mean touch free either..they all suck around here.

You got the tri fold style right? I've been going through an auto car wash for years with mine without issue.

Yeah tri fold... do you do full wash ,,wax dry? Thought I also saw wax is no good for them.. if it lasts a few years good enough for me.

I have a soft tri fold from rough country that has probably been through my touchfree car washes 50 times with no problems.

Yep this is the list my local place does:
  • High Pressure Bottom Blast
  • High Pressure Rinse
  • Touch Free Drying
  • Hot Wheel Cleaning
  • Tire Shine
  • Surface Protectant
  • Hot Carnauba Wax
I go through there I'd say an average of once or twice a week for the last 2-3 years. I'm assuming at this point it will last me the next few years til I trade it in.

I didn't even think it'd be an issue

In fact, thought it was a bonus as the bed would be protected

My Tyger brand tonneau cover still looks almost new after at least 100+ automatic car washes (although they were touch-free). I wouldn't hesitate to take it through a standard car wash either.

I have the Tyger trifold and go through an auto car wash at least twice a week. It is not a touch free one either.

Thanks for all the replys... I have gone thru a bunch of times now.. I only asked as Tyger says no to car wash for whatever reason.

Had it now only a few weeks but long enough for a ton of rain, some snow, Ice and the car wash lol... not a drop in bed .. happy so far.

You mean all car washes suck. They scratch the hell out of your paint.

IS the cover aluminum or something?

Mine too, not as many, but no problem.

When you can't wash your truck for months at a time at home and they dump a bajillion pounds of salt on the roads constantly, it's worth doing. Around here you can easily tell who runs their cars through car washes during winter and who doesn't. Honestly my truck looks pretty nice too and I get very high trade in value on them, so it's not doing anything too harmful, and way more importantly, it keeps my truck from rusting out after one winter. That being said if I didn't live in the rust belt I'd likely opt to wash at home, but that's because with my vehicles I don't like to take unnecessary chances.

And to answer your question, if you're referring to the Tyger cover, its just a normal vinyl tri fold. Mines been on my last 2 trucks for approximately 3-4 years and has been through the car wash a couple hundred times and is holding up really well.

I have a Tyger soft tri-fold tonneau. I use the auto-wash twice monthly. No issues for a year.
