While out for a sunday drive i pulled my 02 into the dealership and went for a spin in a new laramie. Holy mother mary thats one sweeet truck! I love the floor shifter. Hated to get back in my truck but 43k sticker price cushoined the blow. Congrats to anyone on here driving one of those babies!! 43k? Where does it end? Wonder what they will cost in ten yrs. Im showing my age but it doesnt seem that long ago when i was pricing top of the line silverado's for 25k and thought at the time how ridiculous is this.

Just like everything else, the price is going up on trucks, too. It ain't hard these days to option up a 3/4t or 1T diesel past $50K these days. The last "brand new" truck I bought was in 1991. Since then, they've all been "slightly used", normally with a balance of the factory warranty still on them.

After purchasing a brand new truck, I don't think I'll ever do it again.
Funny, I always said I wouldn't do it either. I guess if you keep it for 10 years 200k it's not that bad. Even then...

The new Laramies are badass, plain and simple. If you talked to the dealer, I bet you could have knocked off 7-10K off the sticker price.

yeah, those trucks are sweet...some guys on here have been getting anywhere from $8K-$10K off of sticker. When I got mine, I got $9K off and was pretty happy with it.

I love my 2012 4x4 laramie the trick is do what I did buy it used with 1400 miles then the sticker goes from 47k to 39k the talk them down to 34k put 10500 down. The most important thing is do not leave with a high interest rate, I do not have good credit and I still got 2.6 percent financing.

I just cant justify paying that much for a vehicle rite now.(or ever) I have a daughter goin to college next yr and as nice as that truck is i guess i just dont make enough moolah to be ok with a payment like that would bring. Thats over twice the money my dad payed for his house all those yrs ago. New 4x4 will soon be outta the price range of almost eveyone but dr and lawyers. How can middle class america spend 40k and over on a vehicle?

My payment is only 390 and I understand that you have to pay for college but if you make her join the military they will pay for her college like they did mine. Then you can buy your truck, this is the only thing that makes sense for you hahahah

After my last truck purchase in 2004 for $40K (after $7K discount) I said I would never buy another truck and intended to drive that one into the ground.

So I just bought my 2012 Laramie 2500 with a sticker of just over $50K for $41K and I SWEAR I'm going to drive this one into the ground! :D

I do Love this new truck, I can't believe all the creature comforts and civility they put in a HD pick up truck these days!

For me it was fairly easy. I'm single. That about sums it up lol. Kudos to you for realizing that a daughter in college is more important than a nice new truck. My dad did the same for me and I am very thankful. He struggled my way through college so I could have the advantage of not having a giant student loan to pay off and I can't thank him enough for that. While my buddies make payments on their loans every month, I make a payment on my own house. I can't even begin to explain how lucky I am and how grateful your daughter will be.

Truck prices have definitely risen but they're worth it. As for me I'm not sure how my mom pays for my truck, my college(which will go up next semester as I'm leaving cc to a 4 year university and will have my own house/apartment), and all the other bills but she does. Did the same thing with my sister plus sending her $1,500 a month for random stuff

You can definetly get major discounts on these trucks. I got my 2011 longhorn over $8,000 below sticker with 2.5% apr at the end of December 2011. I thought I did great untill I read about someone getting the same discount on a 2012!
