I don't like the X mufflers.
To put an X pipe in the right spot it needs to go in the hottest part of the pipe. To do it right you run all the piping then use an IR gun to measure the temp along the piping after running it then install the X at that location.
There's more science to doing it right than just slapping on a muffler.

Did some measuring...waiting on pricing for the Magnaflow 3" Tru-X kit with a pair of 6x18" round mufflers and a pair of turndowns. I already called the shop that built my intercooler piping and they're down to fab this up too.
Gimme a few weeks and we'll see what happens.

Listened to a ton of sound clips...the 4" singles just sound obnoxiously loud.

Just add cut outs before the mufflers if you want some increase flow.....The night we meet up with Matt at RPR the last run I made (13.8xx) was with the cut out open, dropped a tenth or so.

I suggest true duals coming out in front of the rear wheel with two exhaust cutouts before each muffler

Just tryin to think outside the box lol

no go on the true X pipe upstream huh? I was just poking around TTi's site and they claim an X pipe is good for 12-15 hp.

That's what I'm doing. Gonna rework ARH's Y into separate pipes into a Magnaflow X pipe and twin mufflers. Just gonna dump it at the mufflers for now and build my own talipes from mandrel bends later.

Right on. That magnaflow X pipe is pricey as I recall. (Must be stainless.) I suspect you are going dig this set up. And the other thing - if it gets to droning on you or you don't like it - you can always cut the turndowns off and go somewhere else with it. Out the side, the back again - heck go little red express right up through the bed.

(not really on that last one.) :)

I definitely plan to take it all the way out the back. I temporarily moved from Tx to Ca for a project and just don't have the tools here to do fab work.
If I was home I'd do it all at once. Once we get it back to the mufflers I can always grab a small 110v mig and do the tailpipes in the garage over a weekend or something if it drones too bad.

I put turndowns on a '96 Ram with a 408. It was like adding a subwoofer for the engine. You gotta put up a video of it when you get it done. PM me if you need any wire or duct tape - will fed ex to you. :)
