Well I'm on my third tq and it's making noise again.

For you guys with aftermarket tqs does it solve the problems?

Which brand is reccomended and why?

I just use my truck of every day driving and occasional towing and beach driving.

Thanks

I would address the problem before replacing the TC again. Something is wrong.

See the tc has been replaced by dodge twice. Dodge knows they are problematic and replace them with what seems to be the same crap.

That's scary. I have heard of the TQ being crap but not having to go through them like that..

How many miles do you have?

There was a bad batch of TCs in 2010, but they were recalled, so I'm very doubtful that you have received 3 of these in a row. IMO there is something else that's messing with your TC, but feel free to try an aftermarket 2600 stall. If it lasts then you'll be happy, if it goes again then you know it's an outside problem.

Off but on subject, kinda.
Is there any benefit to replacing the TQ from stock to another same but better manufacture?
What IS the benefit /function of a higher stall? If factory is 2400, what's the benefit or actual function improvement to go 2600 or 2800?
Maybe some of these answers will help this gentleman and others make an informed purchase.

Yes.
Understanding where your truck makes more power, usually in the higher RPM range. What a higher stall speed does is actually speed up, almost in a slipping manner to get your truck UP TOO that stall speed faster.
So a truck that has a stock stall of 2400, one with a 2800-3000 will get up to that stall speed faster, getting you into the desired powerband faster.

Look at it like a 4 speed. Slipping the clutch while your on the gas at 3000 RPM's. Versus at idle, and letting out on the clutch....which will launch faster?

There is such thing as too much for a streetable truck though right? Say 3000 is excessive for truck with little mods?
Personally if I was the OP, I'd buy a better stall and be done with it. I can understand why he isn't though due to warranty.

My edge 2800-3000 stall is a great converter. It acts like a stock stall while under light throttle but really comes alive at WOT. The mileage did get a little bump (please don't let this be a factor just want to give my experience) and the tranny temps stayed about the same.

On another note does the dealer change the fluid and or filters when they change the TC? That could be a possible problem

^^^^^ I bet when the first one got trashed they didn't do a full flush and crap has be going through your trans this whole time. I would be listening for pump noise soon if this is the case.
