Tow mirrors

Hi, all:

Just bought a used 2014 2500 with the 5.7l. The truck came with the small "flag" type mirrors and I need tow mirrors. I Binged them and new ones on OEM websites are going for over $500.00, whereas ebay is selling aftermarket ones for just around $270.00 to $300.00. Any of these any good or should I try to get them from a junk yard? Thanks

1A auto is the only way to go! Their customer service is far superior to most places I have dealt with. I had an issue with the connector of one of the mirrors i ordered. I contacted them and they had me a new one the next day. Not much else to say about their service other than they rock.

Their product (mirrors in my case) are of very fine quality. no they aren't factory but they are a very high quality. the materials look great, the lights work and are bright and the mirrors themselves dont vibrate driving down the road!

Do note though that you will most likely have to go to the dealer to flash the sales codes on board of the truck to allow the mirrors to operate correctly.

Correct... otherwise the truck won't know if you are flipped up or not and it could be a pain in the neck trying to adjust the mirror when the movements are 90 degrees off!

Just bear in mind that starting around 2013 that Ram put the exterior temperature probe in the mirrors. Don't buy a 2012 tow mirror set and think they will work on the 2013+ models.

I'll second using 1A Auto for new mirrors - I purchased a set of aftermarket (ebay) mirrors once for my dad's '05 and the vibrated so bad at 40+ mph that they were not even usable at that point. I was hesitant on buying mirrors for my '15 truck that weren't OEM just from past experience. But, 1a-Auto's mirrors are OEM quality and I have not noticed any vibrations and I've had the truck up to about 75 mph with the new mirrors. Highly recommended.

Sorry it's taken me so long to reply. My current mirrors are, as I said, the small flag type ones with power adjust and heat. I do not see any lights nor blinkers on them anywhere. My truck is a black 2014 2500 SLT crew cab short bed. Thanks.

If your truck didn't come with all of these features from the factory, I wouldn't recommend adding them on.

Wonder if some trucks don't have the wiring for lights? Or are they all the same and just need the codes flashed.. ?

We always recommend matching feature to feature for easy of installation so that our customers do not run into any issues.

With that said, yes we have had piles of customers add features on and enable features that their truck didn't come with. I've read posts where adding features wasn't an issue, and I've also read of some dealers not being aware of some of the correct sales codes to add to unlock the other features.

These Ram trucks can get tricky when trying to enable some of the extra features. If trying to add options, you may want to consult with your local dealer first to see if it's something that they can do on your vehicle.
