Hey guys,

Looking at RT wheels with sensors installed, but one guy said that the TPMS sensors on the RT work at different frequencies than normal rams.

I find it hard to believe, but maybe he's right?? Would dodge make the sensors int he RT different than the regular rams??

Amnyone know if my sport will read the RT TPMS?

It is very possible they may have a different frequency. I have run into this with other vehicles like a dodge journey has two different frequencies for their tpms sensors.

Just get service packs to transfer your current sensors over to the new rims. Service packs are only like $3-$4 each.

Well Id want my winter rims (the stock 20's and rubber) to retain their TPMS sensors.

I just want the stock 22" RT's to work with my truck for summer (hopefully) without talking tires off to add the correct TPMS, then remount, balance, etc

I figure they would...but I wouldn't put it past a manufacturer to F it up for no reason and switch sensors. Dodge dealer mentioned if its the same model year it should work, however I have no way of identifying if the rims im looking at are from a 2011 model year.

I'm buying new wheels and tires in a month or so and wondered if they will know what TPMS sensors to put in. I talked to the shop I get an alignment about the $40 per wheel price I was quoted. He said get them through the wheel dealer cause he can't come close to that price.

Dodge dealer said if its from the same model year it should work, but I have no way of identifying if the rims i'm looking at a MY2011 or not. I trued cross referencing the dealer for 2012's to see if they're the same but he said he couldn't without a VIN.

Dunno why you need a VIN to reference PN's on parts that could be on any vehicle....

Double post, my bad

Because....ignorance. I need to double check with the wheel dealer to see if they know which ones my truck will need. It's the only major concern I have left on buying custom wheels. My truck is 2010, and the guy at the shop said I should get a few more years out of them, but if I can get new ones now, might as well rather than just switching them out.

I know my 2009s are different than 2010+. Just looking on ebay you can see that. Dont thing they have changed them again.

Sucks because the 2009s are $50 more for a set than the other years.

I'm running 2013 Sport rims on my 2010. Dealer take off. Customer went custom off the hop before delivery. The set was complete down to center caps and lug nuts.

No issue with the TPMS.
