So my Tundra was prewired for all options, even if I didn't have the option. It was prewired for the back up cam, it was prewired for backup sensors, it was prewired for heated seats, etc.

I have a 2015 Tradesman 2500 crewcab that only has a single overhead dome light, no lights in the back seats. Does anyone know if the Tradesman is prewired for the lights in the back seat area?

Not sure on your 2500 tradesmen, but my 1500 express I've found to be prewired or partially wired for many plug n play options such as , under the hood lamp , footwell lighting , radio upgrade to the touchscreen RA2 , Audio controls on the steering wheel, VR/Phone button on the sterringwheel for hands free Bluetooth , and mirror with microphones to complete the hands free Bluetooth set up .
There are many other unused plugs throughout the truck for other plug n play kits , I just haven't figured out what they are yet ....
I installed the OEM back up cam kit once I upgraded my radio , it was a simple install that integrates nicely with the trucks BCM and radio .
Not sure on your tradesman ,but I'm pretty sure others within the forums on 2500s have done everything I've done and much more ...
Hope this helps

Thanks! It gives me optimism at least. One of these days I will take a peek above the headliner and see what is there. My 3 year daughter likes a little light at night to read her books, I'd like to encourage that habit!!!

I had an 08 tundra, yeah all sorts of pre wiring on that truck. My 14 ram 1500 also lots of loose connectors. I've had my headliner down partially to hook in a aux switch. There was an extra connector on the over head console, I assume for Homelink.

plug and play might be the case for most things but I'm finding the Ram usually needs a ECU flash for a lot of add ons outside of a simple light or so.

I also have unused plugs kind of all over. I'm waiting for R.L.K. to figure out what they do so I can take advantage of them :roflsquared:

I love all the pre-wired features on new vehicles. I have added so much to my Ram.

My wife's Altima is pre-wired for everything but the navigation radio. I added the factory remote start to her car in 15 minutes, just had to have the dealer program the new FOBs for $80.
