I love mine!

Guy cut me off so bad on I-95 one time, I had too! Scared him so bad he got off the off ramp and kept going south.

For the people that I know, that dont know I have them. I ask them, "Hey, have you seen my new headlights?"

:roflsquared::roflsquared::roflsquared: damn!!!! i just lost my breath from laughing so hard

I want a horn that has the deeper tone, like the older mack trucks... do you have any of those?

That is all in the tuning of the horns....the difference in the legnth and style of horn deteremines the sound. Longer horns are generally stronger, while shorter horns are usually deeper...

I've been looking around for a long time now. Still trying to find something in sound as close to the original as possible. The louder and deeper the better! I like the 1st vid. Sounded pretty close!

Only way to get it exact would be to find an old Mack wrecked somewhere and hope you can find the airhorns from it....that is usually one of the first things to go after the wheels/tires...

We have a train yard just south of Harrisburg. I know of some guys who got their horns from some old engines then bought the tank and compressor set up.

I'm gonna research out PA laws on the decibel level and such. Then I'll see what kits are available.

PA is such a persnickety state with all it's auto laws. Can't believe all the BS.

I tried researching before and couldn't really did anything in the pa laws. To be safe I put mine on a separate button just to be safe. I've had police around when I've used it and haven't had anything said to me. I also put then on a wire that only has power with the ignition on as a misuse precaution

Like you I'd want the peace of mind that there won't be an accidental discharge. I'd do the same wiring technique with a red cover flip switch.

If I find anything on the sound police regulations I'll post the link(s).

I've always taken the rules like the regular horn uses. Only to be used in an emergency or when needed. So if someone is coming over on me. Cuts me off. Does something stupid that puts me in danger, I honk it. And I've done that with a cop following me. Nothing was done besides the idiot not hitting me when coming into my lane.

My horn is also on a flip switch that, when on, I can honk using the steering wheel horn switch, and when off. It doesn't do anything. I also have a switch for the compressor. In case of a leak I can turn it off when I don't want it off.

Good practice! I hate going to car shows and the idiots with the train horns setting there and blowing them back and forth because they think it is funny.....it's actually annoying....I think the horns need to be used as they are supposed to be, for safety. I am installing one of these kits in my 4x4 soon...

Mine are for the soccer mom in the minivan that pulls in front of you in the fast lane doing 55 and drinking her Starbucks coffee. The least I can do is to make her spill her coffee...

Mine are 157 db and as loud as you could possibly want I would think. I have Kleinn horns,a Viar 480 C compressor and just a 1.5 gallon tank, so I can mount everything up under the air dam.I have the switch cutoff too in case of a leak.

So for a decent price, how much would a kit sounding close to the real thing sound? As in one under $500..
