Tran Problem

Hey everyone new to Dodge Truck and forum. I recently did a engine swap and motor runs great. The tranny however is giving me trouble. Wont go out of 2nd, I put on jack stands and adjusted bands wich did have a lot of play. Still no 3rd or 4th and I noticed the wierdest thing in my side mirror....the tires spin after i come to a complete stop and put it in neutral!!!! Searched all over no help. So if you guys can help it would be great!!!!
99 1500 with 5.2 sport single cab

Could I have tightened bands too much? I have park, reverse and 1-2 but no neutral.

Has the tv cable been adjusted to spec? I believe there are two solenoids in the tranny. Gov pressure and something else you might check those out.

I am not a auto tranny expert at all hopefully someone else will chime in for you.

I ohm.tested solenoids and they seemed ok. Isn't there a way to test them to make them click? Tv cable is ok. I'm going to check shift linkage I might of messed it up when swapped engines. By the way tranny only.has 54k. Thanks for help

Been doing some fsm reading ugh I don't see a test for these solenoids in the 2001 fsm. I do remember one test that you can try, unplug the wiring harness from the tranny. You will have to manually shift the tranny though the gears, if this works you have a solenoid problem I believe.

You need someone better than me helping you with this, I hope someone else jumps in here to help you out.

Update!!! In case anyone was curious I fixed the problem and shifts great now!! Somehow the tv cable mechanism that controls the tension was turned sideways don't ask me how it got that way. It is fixed and that is all I care about.
