4 bolts hold the front driveshaft in place, then it slides off the transfer cases output shaft. With a swivel socket and impact,it's all of about 5 minutes to remove it at mostI have a 21 Rebel 136k miles. Front output shaft seal on the transfer case is leaking pretty bad.
Anyone done this in your driveway? Big job? Front drive shaft pretty easy to get out?

Seal removal tool wouldn't hurt, but usually a screwdriver will work in a pinch. A big socket or piece of exhaust pipe the same diameter as the seals outer edge works to install it,but a hammer and some very careful tapping will also work.Easy enough. Is there any special tools required to remove the output shaft seal and replace?
This subject has been “warm” for the last few days…. I recommend you FIRST determine exactly WHICH MODEL transfer case you have. Also has anyone ran the Redline mt-lv fluid. Going to grab a quart to top off the transfer case and the mopar (68049954AD) seems way overpriced. Cold order two bottle of the Redline and do a full change for half of one quart of the mopar.

Look for a metal tag…or a paper sticker on it…identifying the exact make/model txfr case.
If it is a BorgWarner, it likely uses ordinary ATF4 unless your 4wd control allows “Auto” mode…in which case it probably is a BW44-44 model that requires that expensive special fluid you mention.
When you pull that forward seal out… it’s likely to “dump” a lot (or all) it’s fluid anyway….so it’s a good time to go ahead and remove the lower drain plug before you work on that seal….and do a complete fluid change as part of the job.
(Don’t use an “impact” on the drain plug….do it manually….. or risk cracking the case.) A little “Rector-Seal” thread-sealant…or teflon tape… on the plug when you reinstall it. Remember, that plug is only holding the fluid against gravity…not need to “horse” it when you reinstall it….You don’t want to crack anything.
Odds are you have the BW 44-45 t-case,look up fluid for it,as it doesn't take the expensive Mopar unicorn p!$$Its a rebel trim model. No Auto 4wd.
The only sticker I could find is P68250776AE
Borg Warne (sticker is faded after that)
A number below it that fades 48 -12- 00 (fades off)
TTR23(fades off after that)

No. Regular Amsoil …is Not Fine.No one runs transfer cases as hard as I do. Just get regular Amsoil it's fine
I use a socket to put my seals back on or my brass hammer when they are to big. Just got around slowly
That Mopar PN supercedes to PN 68535808AA which is described as a Borg Warner 44-45 transfer case, which uses ATF4 fluid. Its a rebel trim model. No Auto 4wd.

I’m not attacking You personally. I’m just not a Amway or Amsoil acolyte.OEM fluids are a scam.
Weird my T-case and diff is Amsoil and my 8 speed is Maxxlife, only fools go to the stealersh!t to buy fluids or get any work done
You probably run Ow20 since that's what the manual calls for![]()
Ians well past the warrenty period on most of his stuffI’m not attacking You personally. I’m just not a Amway or Amsoil acolyte.
If OEM fluids are a scam…. try making a warranty claim after you’ve used Amsoil in your txfr case.![]()

I was only saying that OEM fluids can’t be a scam if they are req’d for warranty on their own equipt. (perhaps he meant they were over-priced….in which case I certainly agree)Ians well past the warrenty period on most of his stuff![]()
