I have a 2001 ram 1500 with the 231d transfer case, my question is will a 241dhd out of a ‘99 ram both with 5.9 motor work in my ‘01

It should work, I don't think any sensors had to be replaced between the 98-99 and 00-01 like the trans needed. Bolt pattern is exactly the same.

The length of the input shaft and the amount of splines on the input shaft will very likely be different.
