Hey guys need a little help the other day i was driving and one second i stepped on the gas i heard a small pop and then lost drive engine stayed on spins but there is no drive not 1st 2nd or reverse park still holds if that makes a difference. diff was ok, driveshaft ok, seems like the transfer case didn't snap or anything. A week ago i did the transmission filters and changed the fluid. Any idea what happened?
And anyone know if the transcodes would show up the same way regular codes show up cause i read it threw the guage cluster and all i have is a P0300 and P1491

Is a intermittent misfire, probably came when your trans jumped. There are several ways of diagnosing and fixing it.

Is your condenser fan, the best way to see if it's working is to turn your A/C on high and as cold as it'll go and see if the fan under the hood comes on. If it doesn't then check the fuse to see if it's out.

You can also refer to this from Chrysler on the issue...

Now with all that said, my trans went out in sort of the same fashion, but I lost 3rd, 4th and 5th. When I took it to the shop and they tore it apart they said that my TQ detonated internally and my clutches were no more... 2 weeks and $3000 later it runs like a top.

Hopefully I didn't give you misinformation as I've had experience with both, but found that recall that covers your truck.

I'd check those transmission filters that were just replaced and make sure they're still in there correctly

How many miles were on your transmission before u changed the oil? Many people think by change the oil for the 1st time in 75k-100k mile it doing the trans good. I've seen many many local rams do it and a few days later they blew the trans.

Either way that code is a general misfire code.

Ok now just having been in two other cars while they blew thier auto trannys I've noticed that wen a trans blows it usually only affect some of or on of the gears as apples to all of them at once. When it happened to me on the turnpike I lost everything all at once. So I'm thinking fluid pump, torque converter or the fluid sump fell out does that make sense. And if so how hard is it to do the pump or torque converter

pump or converter require removal of transfer case (if it applies) and Trans at the very least.
