I replaced my transmission filters and realized afterwards that I put the RWD filter in my 4WD truck. I know the 4WD has a longer sump stem, so will the one I installed work fine? Or is it too short to reach the fluid?

You should install the correct sump filter. The RWD sump filter in a 4WD trans pan creates about a 1" gap between the bottom of the pan and the bottom of the filter which can lead to pump fluid starvation under different driving scenarios.I replaced my transmission filters and realized afterwards that I put the RWD filter in my 4WD truck.
