2015 1500 Tradesman, 5.7, 65RFE transmission, 80,050 miles. Bought the truck in March with just under 75,000 miles.
- Last Saturday, 7/13, the check engine light came on with the p0740 code, TCC solenoid issue.
- I cleared the code then it showed up on Sunday, about 100 miles later.
- Took it to AAMCO on Monday night, they did a diagnostic on Tuesday, said the TC and solenoid block were bad, fluid was questionable (dark but not burnt) recommended replacing TC and solenoid block, and disassembly/inspection to ensure nothing in the xmsn body is bad.
- On Friday, 7/19, I get the call that its ready to go. They said they disassembled it and everything looked good, including gears, clutch packs, bearings, etc. As part of the repair, they replaced the torque converter (reman), solenoid block, transducer, line pressure sensor, and filters. They hot flushed the xmsn and pressure tested all valves and actuators. They also put in a new speed sensor at no cost because they broke mine trying to remove it; said it was seized in the body and it had to come out. I picked it up on Friday evening.
- Yesterday, 7/20, with less than 50 miles since I left the shop, p0740 code AGAIN!
Here is a pic of the diagnostic notes from 7/16 and the final test notes from 7/19. I'm concerned about the line that reads, "NOTE THAT TCC SLIP RPM IS LESS THAN 20-50 RPM IN PARK AND NEUTRAL BUT BESIDES THAT NO OPERATIONAL CONCERN/NO TCC SHUDDER DURING 7 MILES OF ROAD TEST". Is a 20-50 rpm slip in park/neutral normal??

I'm taking it back tonight for them to look at tomorrow morning. What could the issue be? Why would I still have the p0740 code less than 50 miles after being repaired?? Thank you for your time!
