Ok, so I just had to send $1k this week on front end repairs to my CV Stub Axle and Intermediate shaft.....and I freaked out about it and swore I was going to sell my truck. Then I got her back and like a chick you've been away from too long.....I couldn't imagine life without her haha.

So, if I plan to keep her......the next thing that worries me is the Tranny. She's great when warmed up, but at 140K miles she's starting to slip which worries me....alot. Specifically when I take hard corners or lay down on the pedal. When it's cold too. I've got an 02' with the 5.9L Magnum, so I have the cheaper version of the 2nd Gen Tranny.....but has anyone done a tranny swap and typically what are the costs?

Having a hard time debating whether to sell and go 4th Gen, or dump the money into this and just rebuild from ground up. I've put a lot of work into my 02' and it's the first truck I've been this attached to lol.

Front Left Ball Joint is going bad with a torn boot....and I found out my front Axle boot is torn as well. ******* Rubber. Think I might be able to patch that though.

What's the truck worth? It may be worth it to get a 4th gen and still keep your truck if possible

If you love that truck and are attached then I say fix it. Hell your sales tax depending on where you are on the 4th gen would pay for your trans. I love my fire breathing hemi and when this damn thing ticks for its last time or this pos 5 speed blows I'll prob rebuild and smile the whole time bc "I love the truck" my $0.02 nothing more

Sounds like a simple band adjustment is needed. Might not be the fix all, but will get you a little more life from the trans.
