Hey Ram community. Bought a used 2020 Ram, and I was just wondering if it’s normal for the truck to slightly Jerk when switching gears from Park to Drive. I don’t remember experiencing this on my Canyon or my other cars.

Thanks for any feedback!

You might feel it when you shift it onto gear. It may be a little more amplified if you're parked on an incline. If you're feel it bang or clunk into gear then there may be an issue but a little bump should be fine. You can always go to a dealer or something and test drive one to compare

On an incline, I do feel the hard engagement from park to drive sometimes.

Had a small lurch on my '19 Big Horn when going to drive from either reverse or park. Upgraded to a '21 Laramie last year and it doesn't have that issue at all.

The dealership was able to reprogram my old transmission which seemed to help.
