Trucks been running fine until Wednesday morning, I start her up and go to back out. Felt a weird thud when backing up, something in the tranny. Then when I put it in Drive it stalled a while then went in.

Drove it for about 40-50 miles and then it got a little worse. Today it seems to be getting worse as the physical lugs and everything are getting worse.

I'll be in like 2nd gear, and give it a little gas and the engine just winds up and then shifts really hard.

Is there a transmission rebuild kit? i have an 06 1500 4wd sport

I am thinking of possibly buying this as a last resort:
SharaDon Stage 2 545RFE Transmission
Moes Performance

the engine light came on tonight and gave the following:

I would start small drain the pan and put in new filters and top off. If that does not fix it you won't be out much you will know if it was something in the filter and or you will see it in the pan. If you have trans shop do the change they can examine first.

ill drop the pan tomorrow, i was thinking of taking off the valve body when i am in there, i remember reading somewhere that you put the tranny in like neutral before you drop the pan if your removing the valvebody. or can you just take it out.

how hard is a tranny swap? i have a huge 4 ton floor jack that would help and i have all the craftsmen tools but no specialty tools.

not sure why this would affect anything but I removed my superchips tune 3815 (my model doesnt tune the tranny). Turned MDS back on and she drove just fine. Going to go get some tape to mail out a package and see how she drives.

The 700 is just a generic that normally points towards fluid change and filters, the others could be the plug for the trans had moved. What has me scratching my head is you did a return to stock and it all went back to normal.

KGBIGCOUNTRY, thanks for your reply. Its been getting worse but ever since I removed the tune I haven't gotten an engine light yet.

Right now the truck doesn't shift out of 2nd gear until I restart the truck and its been warmed up. Then it shifts just fine. When I start her up when shes cold, for instance in the morning she move in D or R, she builds up pressure and then I can go in either.

if you want some idea of what its like digging into a tranny, look at the shift kit and torque converter tuts in the DIY section. that'll give you the tip of the iceburg, and its not for the faint of heart. i was at a shop with a full tool set, impacts, lift, workbenches, etc...

OlDirtyJohn, only thing I do not have is a tool to learn the tranny after installing it.

I managed to fix my transmission simply by ensuring the pressure sensory wiring was good and plugged all the way in
